Premier League Goalshow

Match of the day could be filled with excitement . Backing Manchester City to concede at home would have been a ridiculous suggestion in recent years, but for a side that has lost its last two matches and shown some defensive vulnerabilities, we are taking a chance here. Leeds United doesn 't exactly have the most prolific scoring record, with 11 goals in 12 matches this season and just four away from home. The last time the Yorkshire side visited the Etihad, they made things interesting with a goal late on, and this side has proven to be strong from set-piece situations that can be utilized again here.

Sunderland and Bournemouth also face off on Saturday afternoon , and I must say that this is a game that excites me. A Sunderland side that is unbeaten at home this season held Arsenal to a 2-2 draw against a Bournemouth side with the likes of Antoine Semenyo and Eli Junior Kroupi leading the attack. Bournemouth has scored in ten out of 12 Premier League matches this season despite being winless in three. Sunderland has scored at least one goal in every home fixture so far, meaning this game is set up perfectly to be a high-scoring contest (insert 0-0 FT here).

Over To You, Champ

My favorite league. One so chaotic that the Race for Promotion is between 15 teams instead of just six. Middlesbrough and Derby are two sides in the mix, and The Rams have been scoring goals for fun in recent weeks. The absence of Carlton Morris didn't seem to have too much effect, as they defeated Swansea City on Tuesday night, making it 11 goals scored in five matches. Considering that Middlesbrough has not kept a clean sheet in six matches, we expect Derby to add to this tally at The Riverside. They haven't exactly covered themselves in defensive glory either, failing to manage a clean sheet in their last five attempts. Boro at home always seems a safe bet for goals, having failed to score just once this season on home soil. Our in-house tipster has an 80% confidence level in this BTTS selection, and three of the previous five meetings between these two have resulted in goals.

West Brom and Swansea may not sound like the most interesting matchup at first glance , but this game has a lot at stake. Ryan Mason has been under pressure in recent weeks due to his underwhelming start in The Midlands, but his side has shown signs of improvement. The Baggies were unfortunate not to get anything away at Coventry before playing out a 1-1 draw against in-form Birmingham last time out, so a win here would certainly lift spirits around the club. Swansea suffered defeat in midweek , but fan optimism has grown around new manager Vitor Matos and the expectations to change fortunes for The Swans. The previous matchups between these two have been thrillers, and with much on the line for both managers, we expect this to be an entertaining affair.

Battles at The Top

Stockport and Barnsley , with the early-afternoon kickoff, is set up to be a thrill. Two sides that certainly know where the back of the net is will be hoping to be in and around the playoff picture come the end of the season. Stockport comes into this match winless in three, the absence of Ollie Norwood clearly taking its toll as the midfielder has created the most big chances in the league this season. Barnsley was emphatic victors against Luton last time out. The Tykes average 1.8 goals per game and have scored ten goals in their last five matches. Stockport has conceded 20 goals so far this season compared to Barnsley's 18, so we expect this to be a very open affair, and BTTS looks like a safe bet here.

The second highest scorers in the division face off against second in the division and I think you might know where I am going with this one. Chesterfield have scored 31 goals in 17 league matches, 17 of these goals coming on home soil. Meanwhile Swindon have scored 11 times in their last five games and have gone six successive matches scoring at least one goal. The last three matchups between the two has seen goals for both sides at the SMH Group Stadium and our in-house tipster has 56.70% confidence that it'll be four in a row.
