Manchester City have come out on top on the last seven occasions when visiting Craven Cottage. The Citizens will be out for blood after suffering defeat to Newcastle on their last away outing and victory here could bring them within two points of league leaders Arsenal. Phil Foden looks to be back at his best this season, scoring a vital late winner in the last match and will not be short of confidence coming into this one.
Guardiola's side tallied eight corners against Leeds United and have not had any less than seven corners for four consecutive matches. They have also totalled six and seven corners on their last two visits to Fulham and we think they will create more than enough chances to side with the Over 5.5 corners bet here.
I have a feeling that this game will go one of two ways: an entertaining but dominant City win, or an entertaining but close match, both involving goals. Fulham have scored in consecutive home fixtures and have only failed to do so on one occasion so far this season. Meanwhile, Manchester City have only failed to score on one occasion away from home so this one is destined for goals.
I think I have provided more than enough reason to justify confidence in both teams to score here. However, selecting Foden as the man for the business for Manchester City could be a risk, due to the inevitable nature of Pep Roulette. Regardless, Foden received high praise from his manager after the performance against Leeds, essentially saying stick him anywhere on the pitch and he will perform. Foden knows what it is like to score at Craven Cottage after doing so in a 0-4 win in May last year. We have reason to believe that his fine form is here to stay and fancy Foden to add to his tally here.
Fulham will be full of confidence, bringing strong form into this fixture and momentum will be a huge factor against a Manchester City side that has not been prone to conceding goals. If the hosts start strong and are able to control the tempo of the game, expect the likes of Nico Gonzalez in midfield to become frustrated. The Spanish midfielder is not shy about receiving a yellow card and it took as few as three minutes for him to receive one when being brought on at Villa Park. Once again, quite literally no one knows what side Guardiola will choose to field, so side with this one yourself at your own risk.
With initial odds of 21.00, a £10 stake stands to earn you £220, should this unbelievable bet builder come off. But as I said earlier, there is a very easy way of taking your winnings from great to unbelievable.
