Group D in the African Cup of Nations kicks off as the continent's second largest nation DR Congo take on Benin.
By land area, DR Congo is the 11th largest nation on earth, and has a population of over 110 million people.
The country is two times winners of AFCON., but haven't been champions of Africa since 1974 and would love to end that barren run with the trophy at the end of this year's tournament.
Opponents Benin, are not quite of the same stature. The Western African nation has never mangaged to even win a match in the tournament. This is their fifth time appearing at an AFCON tournament and would love to taste victory for the first time.

Despite narrowly missing out on a playoff spot in World Cup qualifying, recent form for Benin has been strong despite a 4-0 defeat to Nigeria, the question however is whether they can turn that form into a major tournament.
Defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka has impressed at West Ham since moving to East London from Manchester United, winning the club's 'Hammer of the Year' award for 24/25 and will be hoping to impress for his national side.
Striker Steve Mounie will be recognisable to watchers of the Premier League and the EFL. The forward had a strong spell with Huddersfield Town and at the age of 31 will hope to lead his national team to success at AFCON.
