Oxford United vs Leicester City Predictions, Lineups and Betting Tips

Match Details: Saturday 13th September | The Kassam Stadium | EFL Championship | 12:30 GMT

After a two week break with international football, the Championship is finally back and this weekend, Oxford are set to host Leicester on Saturday lunchtime.

Both sides are at polar opposite ends of the table after four games, so it will be interesting to see if that is altered after 90 minutes on Saturday.

Key Betting Tip: Over 2.5 Goals offers good value @ 1.92.

Oxford vs Leicester Predicted Lineups

Oxford Predicted XI: Cumming, Leigh, Long, Helik, ter Avest, Phillips, Goodrham, Brannagan, De Keersmaecker, Placheta, Lankshear

Oxford have two players who will be unavailable for Saturday’s game. That includes both Ciaron Brown and Ole Romeny.

Leicester Predicted XI: Stolarczyk, Thomas, Vestergaard, Okoli, Pereira, Skipp, Soumaré, Mavididi, Page, Fatawu, Ayew

Leicester’s injury list is slightly more extensive, as four players within their squad carry injuries. That includes Bobby Reid, Hamza Choudhury, Harry Souttar and Victor Kristiansen.

Oxford and Leicester Current Form and Standings

Oxford have really struggled throughout the opening four games to the Championship 2025/26 season. The U’s have picked up just one point in total, after they managed to draw against Coventry in their last game. However, the three games prior included a 3-2 loss to Hull, a 1-0 loss to Birmingham and a 1-0 loss to Portsmouth. Despite beating Colchester in the first round of the EFL Cup, they also lost 6-0 to Brighton in the second round, which added fuel to their fire of poor form. Gary Rowett’s men now sit 22nd in the Championship, taking up a place in the relegation zone. Whilst there is still plenty of time to put things right, Oxford need to improve their results soon.

Leicester City have expectedly fallen straight into positive form following their relegation from the Premier League last season. The Foxes have grasped nine points from their opening four games, after beating all three of Sheffield Wednesday, Charlton and Birmingham. However, in their second game, they did unfortunately fall to defeat against Preston North End, after a late winner from the Lancashire side. These results now leave Marti Cifuentes’ outfit fourth in the Championship table, just one point off the top two. Last time the Foxes were in the second tier they won it at first attempt back in 2024, so they will certainly be looking to replicate the same achievement this time round.

Oxford vs Leicester Head-to-Head Timeline
