Australia are in fine form as it stands. The Socceroos are unbeaten in their last nine matches across all competitions and the last four of those matches have all been wins. They have just finished second in Group C of the AFC World Cup 2026 Round 3 Qualifying, meaning they have guaranteed a spot in next year’s World Cup alongside Japan. Tony Popovic’s men managed this after collecting 19 points from 10 games in Group C, after only losing just one game in total.
New Zealand have had just as much success on their journey to qualification. As they competed through the OFC Qualifiers, their route was slightly different; instead of groups they had to compete in a four-team tournament alongside North Caledonia, Tahiti and Fiji. From here, New Zealand beat Fiji in a semi final and then beat North Caledonia 3-0 in the final to guarantee a place in the 2026 World Cup. Excusing their recent friendly loss to Ukraine, New Zealand had won seven games on the trot prior.
These two have played each other four times since 2010, with Australia winning each one of them. They are also due to play each other on Tuesday 9th September this year.

(Odds are subject to change)
Kusini Yengi (Australia) - The striker loves a goal for the Socceroos, after scoring six goals in eight games throughout the AFC World Cup 2026 Qualifiers. Yengi plays for Aberdeen at club level, where he hasn’t exactly hit the ground running, but there is certainly a goalscorer in him.
Chris Wood (New Zealand) - Chris Wood has aged like a fine wine. In the Premier League, the striker netted 34 goals across the last two seasons for Nottingham Forest and he has already opened his account with two this season. At 33 years of age, Wood still stands as New Zealand’s main number nine and has buried nine goals in five OFC World Cup 2026 Qualifier games.
