La Liga, one of the most intense and eye-catching divisions in world football, is nearing it's curtain call. Yet, with just three games left on the 24/25 placard, there is still everything and more to play for up and down the fixture list.
One such fixture, coming to you this Thurday, is that of Rayo Vallecano and Real Betis, two sides who have performed admirable runs at the European qualifying spots, but still need those last few points to seal their success.
The two sides will butt heads in their mission to reach Europe, and we have everything you need to know before kick-off.
You can grab the action for this match on Thursday, 15/05/25, kicking off at 6pm UK time. You can keep an eye on proceedings on La Liga TV.
Rayo Vallecano Predicted Lineup: Batalla; Balliu, Lejeune, Hernandez, Chavarria, Valentin, Lopez, Palazon, Ratiu, Embarba, Garcia
Vallecano, the hosting side on Thursday night, can be proud of their efforts so far this season, but cannot spend any time thinking ahead to any celebrations.
The Madrid-based outfit have risen from a 17th-placed finish in La Liga last season to proper European Contention, but they will have to negate plenty of pressure if they wish to fulfil a first foray into Europe since 2001.
Currently sitting in 8th, in line with Conference League qualification, Los Franjirrojos are two points adrift of Celta Vigo in the Europa league places. However, the exact same can be said for 9th-placed Mallorca, whilst Osasuna and Valencia in 10th and 11th sit only two points away from Vallecano.
Thus, a big effort will be needed in a huge test of season-ending nerves, starting first with in-form Champions League-chasing Real Betis.
With regards to availability, Pathe Ismael Ciss will be back from suspension, although Abdul Mumin, Joni Montiel and Randy Nteka all remain injury doubts.
Real Betis Predicted Lineup: Adrian; Ruibal, Bartra. Natan, Perraud, Carvalho, Altimira, Antony, Isco, Fornals, Hernandez
Real Betis, having already reached a European final this season after semi-final success over Fiorentina, are chasing bigger dreams for the 25/26 campaign.
Los Mejores sit just 3 points away from 5th-placed Villareal, and will be hoping to capitalise on any errors from the Yellow Submarine in order to jump into the Champions League spaces.
The pressure is certainly on, and though they may be the favourites for this clash in particular, Vallecano have dreams of their own that will not prove simple to surpass.
They'll have to make their way into the game with a few absentee's. Chimy Avila, Marc Roca and Diego Llorente are all expected to be sidelined. Hector Bellerin may also be unavailable after being withdrawn with a knock against Fiorentina on the 8th, leaving the Spaniard absent from their following draw with Osasuna.
With both teams desperate to dispatch one another, we can see caution being thrown to the wind in this one. As such, our best bet is for both teams to score in this fixture.
You can grab that at a solid 1.8 over at Betfred, meaning a £10 stake returns £18!
Rayo Vallecano 1-2 Real Betis
Real Betis have been a hard nut to crack in recent games, having been undefeated in their last seven fixtures. Though Vallecano have been more than admirable this season, we don't see them getting a big win here.
