Both Sevilla and Leganes will be looking to give themselves a boost in their respective bids for survival when they face each other in the Spanish La Liga on Sunday.
Sevilla look the more likely to reach safety - they sit 15th. Five points above the relegation zone, and a win here would take them to the magical ‘40 point mark’, the number which usually indicates guaranteed safety in a 20 team league.
Leganes' position is looking a little more precarious. Located right in the middle of Spain, it is a shame that the football team sits anywhere but; they lie 19th, four points from safety, and with just one win since mid-January.
As the game approaches, here is everything you need to know about both sides ahead of kick-off.
This game will be shown on La Liga TV and on Premier Sports 2, with kick-off scheduled for 15:15 GMT.
Sevilla Predicted Lineup (4-4-2): Orjan Nyland (GK); Adria Pedrosa, Kike Salas, Loic Bade, Jose Angel Carmona; Diego Hormigo, Saul Niguez, Lucien Agoume, Juanlu Sanchez; Isaac Romero, Djibril Sow.
Though neither side came into this one in good form, Sevilla arrive in a category all on their own. For a side used to competing in the top eight of Spain’s Premier Division, their recent form, and more broadly their season, has been catastrophic.
In their last five games, they have lost to Atletico Madrid, Real Betis, fellow strugglers Valencia and Osasuna, and they picked up a lonely point against 17th placed Deportivo Alaves. The only truly challenging opponent here was Ateltico. In all of the other games, Sevilla would typically be expected to take away maximum points more often than not.
As a result of their inconsistency, relegation is still not off the table. With five games left, there is more than enough wiggle room for Aevilla to suddenly drop into the top three, so they really need a win to boost their morale. Should they emerge victorious here, they can tentatively start thinking about next season.
Leganes Predicted Lineup (5-4-1): Marko Dmitrovic (GK); Africa Altimira, Javier Hernandez, Sergio Gonzalez, Jorge Saenz, Valentin Rosier; Yan Diomande, Darko Brasanac, Renato Tapia, Juan Cruz; Daniel Raba.
While victories have been hard to come by, Leganes cannot be criticised for a lack of effort. Draws against Girona, Mallorca, Osasuna, Alaves and Athletic Bilbao have kept them in the mix for survival, but they know that there were opportunities in those games to come away with more.
They have certainly been able to finish games strongly. In three of their last five draws, they have scored to seal a point in the last five minutes - they certainly never give up. But they now need to approach games like this from the start.
It is one thing to go for it and go all out when you're chasing a lead, as you have your targets set on dragging your side level. It is a whole other ball game to play like you’re behind when you're not, and it is an art that Leganes have only five games to master.
Recent Meetings:
While they are in poor form, Sevilla simply have too much quality in their team for this to go on too much longer. They are too good to go down, and this is the perfect game to illustrate that. Sevilla will win.
Sevilla 2-1 Leganes
A victory means that Sevilla’s recent goal output becomes a little easier on the eye. Leganes will get a goal as reward for their tireless hard work, but hard work by itself will not be enough. Sevilla’s inherent quality will get them over the line.
