Match Details: Saturday 9th August | Toughsheet Community Stadium | EFL League One | 15:00 GMT
Plymouth Argyle make the lengthy trip to Bolton on Saturday afternoon, for the second game of the new League One season.
Both of these sides are on a mission for the same end goal this season, as promotion remains the target for Bolton, and Plymouth look to bounce straight back from their relegation from the Championship last term.
However, they both lost their respective games last weekend, starting things on the wrong foot.
Key Betting Tip: Plymouth to Win offers good value @ 4.10.
Bolton Predicted XI: Sherman-Lowe, Conway, Forino-Joseph, Toal, Cogley, Erhahon, Morley, Gale, McAtee, Cozier-Durberry, Burstow
Bolton have had a busy summer so far, bringing in 10 players through the transfer window.
Plymouth Predicted XI: Ashby-Hammond, Galloway, Szucs, Pálsson, Sarpong-Wiredu, Mumba, Ibrahim, Boateng, Sorinola, Watts, Amaechi
Plymouth have also brought in 10 signings this summer. However, in return the Greens have lost 14 of their players from last season.
Bolton got off to an extremely disappointing start to the League One season. The Whites lost 2-0 to Stockport County last Sunday, which now puts them 22nd in the table. Stockport are a very tough team to face on opening day, but Bolton still had plenty of chances to go a head. A first half pass across the six-yard box went begging after Mason Burstow’s outstretched leg couldn’t reach the ball to tap it home. Ultimately this then punished Bolton, as Stockport’s Malik Mothersille and Kyle Wootten each grabbed a goal in the game.
Tom Cleverley’s Plymouth Argyle cannot say they performed much better in their opening game, as they were held to a 3-1 defeat to Barnsley at Home Park. The Greens are now 21st in League One, although the league table is unavailing at this point in time. Similarly to Stockport, Barnsley are a tough team to beat at this level; however, Plymouth should have done much better on home soil upon their relegation to the third tier. Caleb Watts was the only man to find the net for Argyle, scoring to make the game 2-1 shortly after half time.
Plymouth are the usual winners of this League One affair. However, the last time these two met was in the EFL Trophy final in 2023, where Bolton absolutely demolished the Devon outfit.

(Odds are subject to change)
Aaron Morley (Bolton) - The midfielder plays a huge part in Bolton’s squad, linking the defence to the attack. He had a fantastic year in League One last season, playing for Wycombe in the first half on loan and then back to his parent club for the second half. Overall, Morley grabbed six goals and seven assists from middle of the park and was a top performer for both sides.
Caleb Watts (Plymouth) - The Aussie has never carried a heavy goal record throughout his career, but he did manage to net Plymouth’s only goal in opening day against Barnsley. Watts was one of Argyle’s many summer signings, as he arrived from Exeter City.
