Huddersfield Town vs Peterborough United Predictions, Lineups and Betting Tips

Match Details: Saturday 6th September | Accu Stadium | EFL League One | 15:00 GMT

We are approaching match week seven in EFL League One and amongst this weekend’s fixtures, Huddersfield will host Peterborough on Saturday afternoon.

The visitors are still in search for their first win of the season after picking up just one point from six games. Meanwhile Huddersfield will be attempting to bounce back from their second defeat of the season last week.

Key Betting Tip: Over 2.5 Goals offers good value @ 1.58.

Huddersfield vs Peterborough Predicted Lineups

Huddersfield Predicted XI: Nicholls, Roughan, Low, Feeney, Sørensen, Ledson, Harness, Rooksen, Kane, Wiles, Taylor

Goalkeeper Owen Goodman will be suspended from Huddersfield’s team for this game, after he received a straight red card in his last match against Barnsley.

Peterborough Predicted XI: Reyes, Mendy, O’Connor, Lees, Okagbue, Kioso, Collins, Khela, Lolos, Lindgren, Leonard

Defender Sam Hughes is still recovering from an injury for the Posh. However, goalkeeper Alex Bass is expected to be fit for Saturday’s match.

Huddersfield and Peterborough Current Form and Standings

Huddersfield had a magnificent time in the summer transfer window. The selection of players they brought in are of a superb standard. However, they maybe haven’t started the League One campaign as well as they’d hoped. The Terriers currently sit in sixth place, with 12 points after six games, but they’d be distraught to have already lost two games in the league. Lee Grant’s men lost 3-2 to Blackpool a couple of weeks ago and then last weekend they also lost 3-1 to Barnsley. The points dropped from these two games has already separated them four points away from top spot, as they really need to bounce back on Saturday.

Peterborough have truly had a nightmare start to their season. Out of the six League One games they have played, they have lost five and drawn one. The draw came against Bradford, after Cian Hayes scored a 91st minute equaliser, but other than that, the Posh have nothing to show for their campaign so far. Darren Ferguson’s men have only scored two league goals in total, as they occupy rock bottom with no signs of improvement. The Cambridgeshire outfit have also lost an EFL Cup game to Accrington Stanley, as well as an EFL Trophy game against 10-men Leyton Orient, taking it to a span of eight games without a win.

Huddersfield vs Peterborough Head-to-Head Timeline

This game used to be a timeless classic, with Peterborough always offering Huddersfield a very tricky fixture. The Posh also cruised past the Terriers in a League One Playoff Final back in 2011.

However, the affair has become much more one-sided in recent years, as Peterborough have only managed to beat Huddersfield once in their last five attempts.

Key Players to Watch: Huddersfield vs Peterborough

Joe Taylor (Huddersfield) - The striker has been on fire lately, after picking up three goals and one assist in his last two matches. He came off the bench in his last league game to score a consolation past Barnsley, but that may be enough to guarantee his second league start of the season this Saturday. Taylor ironically played for Posh not too long ago as well, as he spent 14 months with the club between 2021 and 2023.

Harry Leonard (Peterborough) - No Posh player has really shone out above the rest this season following their dismal start to the campaign. However, they did fork out £1 million on new striker Harry Leonard from Blackburn on Deadline Day, so it will be interesting to see how he gets on with his new club. The 21-year-old played 36 times for Blackburn, scoring five goals.
