We are back to MLS action after a short break for some sides competing in the Leagues Cup. We enter the last section of the season, with only 10 or so games left to play. The Sounders head south to take on an LA Galaxy side seeking a resurgent run of form as they look to not end their MLS defending campaign on a complete note of embarrassment.
Key Betting Tip: LA Galaxy to Win at 2.10 odds on Kwiff represents excellent value based on the tip provided by our team of in-house tipsters.
LA Galaxy Predicted XI: Novak Mićović; Julián Aude, Carlos Garcés, Maya Yoshida (c), Miki Yamane; Diego Fagúndez, Edwin Cerrillo; Joseph Paintsil, Marco Reus, Gabriel Pec; Matheus Nascimento.
Seattle Predicted XI: Andrew Thomas; Nouhou Tolo, Yeimar Gómez, Jackson Ragen, Alex Roldán; Obed Vargas, Cristian Roldán (c); Pedro de la Vega, Albert Rusnák, Jesús Ferreira; Daniel Musovski.
The hosts make just one change from their outing against Santos (the Mexican side!), with Yamane coming in for the impressive Mauricio Cuevas. Galaxy only have one absentee, with Riqui Puig out for the foreseeable future.
Seattle looks to make four changes to the side who beat Tijuana last week, as Kalani Kossa-Rienzi, Reed Baker-Whiting, Ryan Kent, and Osaze De Rosario will make way for Roldán, Tolo, De la Vega, and Musovski. On the injury front, Jordan Morris, João Paulo, Stuart Hawkins, and Paul Arriola will all be sidelined through troubles, while Kent and Rusnák both picked up knocks in the last game and their fitness will be monitored and assessed for Monday.
Domestically, LA Galaxy are having an awful time, with just three victories over the course of the 2025 season so far. However, two of their victories came within their last four MLS matches, while they also won twice in the Leagues Cup, against both Tijuana and Santos, while drawing 1-1 with Cruz Azul, losing 8-7 on penalties. They finished in the top four of the Leagues Cup and will enter the playoffs later on in the season.
Sounders are another of the four sides that have made the 2025 Leagues Cup playoffs, after they were the only side to go flawless throughout the first phase. They beat both Santos and Tijuana 2-1 after absolutely demolishing Cruz Azul in a storming 7-0 fashion. Top of the Leagues Cup, Seattle are also in the top 12 in the Supporters’ Shield, and a win on Monday would see them climb into the top 10.
These sides have been partaking in absolute thrillers throughout the last 15 years, and the head-to-head is a tight one to call. In the last 10 meetings between the sides, it is Seattle who just edge out LA with four wins to three, while enduring three stalemates too. As for the past five meetings, we find ourselves at a deadlock, with both sides winning twice.
Recent Head-to-Head Results:
There have been some very entertaining affairs between the sides through the years, but in the last meeting back in December, it took just one goal, in the 85th minute, to win it for LA.
LA Galaxy Last 5 Matches:
Galaxy have certainly been in the goals recently, with 14 in the past five. Their attackers have certainly hit the mark at the right time, putting 10 past some very respectable Mexican clubs. Defensively is where the issues lie, however, conceding eight in that time.
Seattle Last 5 Matches:
The Sounders’ merciless display against Cruz Azul was something extraordinary, as they have struck two or more goals in each of their last seven games, suggesting this game on Monday could be an absolute barn burner of a tie.
Our advanced algorithm analyses over 200 data points to generate these predictions with confidence in an LA Galaxy victory. The model factors in current form, head-to-head records, player availability, and tactical matchups. The recent defensive issues for both sides suggest that we could be in store for a goal fest on the return to the league season.
Football Park’s Best Bet: LA Galaxy to Win @ 2.10 - Our team of in-house betting tipsters have predicted a huge Galaxy win in this fixture. Recent head-to-head and form suggest confidence in an LA Galaxy victory.
Gabriel Pec (LA Galaxy): Pec has been in scintillating form in recent games, scoring four in his last four games. He has a very successful Leagues Cup cameo, both in the striking and creativity sections.
Albert Rusnák (Seattle Sounders): If he is fit to play on Monday, Rusnák could prove vital to the Sounders’ chances of climbing up the league table. His 10 goals this season lead their scoring charts, and he will have to continue this form if they are to see any further success this season.
Referee: Allen Chapman. The vastly experienced official has handed out an average of 3.3 yellow cards per match over the span of his 255-match career. However, in the 17 fixtures he has overlooked this year, he has handed out just 2.65 yellows per game.
