Inter Milan vs Barcelona Prediction

After an epic draw in the first leg, it is now a one-legged shootout in Milan to decide the first team in the Champions League final. With a place in the biggest match in club football on the line, who will secure their tickets to Munich on Tuesday night?

Last Wednesday, Inter delivered a performance to be proud of in North-eastern Spain; they now host the second leg with the advantage and can lock in their second Champions League final in three years. They fully deserve to be in this position, after defeating Feyenoord and Bayern Munich to get here, and are the only team left in the competition with one loss.

Barcelona had looked unstoppable in this competition, however, have recently tripped up twice in as many games and although they looked like the better side, will have to go to Milan where they will have to silence what will be an incredible atmosphere at the San Siro. Barcelona were unbeaten in 2025 before suffering their first defeat against Dortmund in the second leg of their quarter-final, and after drawing the first leg of their semi-final, Hansi Flick will desperate to get his team into their first Champions League final since 2015.

As the game approaches, here is everything you need to know about both sides ahead of kick-off.

Key Statistics

  • There is no side left unbeaten in the competition, however, Inter find themselves as the only club to have lost just once

  • Inter scored 11 goals in their eight league phase matches, and have already matched that tally in just five knockout games

  • Inter also hold the best defence left in the competition, alongside Arsenal, who have both conceded eight

  • Barcelona are competition’s top scorers by some distance- their 40 is nine better than PSG’s 31

  • Raphinha has arguably been player of the tournament so far. The Brazilian has scored the second most goals with 12 and has provided the most assists with eight- three more contributions than anyone else

Inter Milan Preview, Form and Standout Players

Inter Predicted Lineup (3-5-2): Sommer; Bastoni, Acerbi, Pavard; Dimarco, Mkhitaryan, Calhanoglu, Barella, Dumfries; Arnautovic, Thuram.

Benjamin Pavard is pushing hard to return for the second leg after missing out on Wednesday. Captain Lautaro Martinez is expected to miss out after picking up a hamstring injury in the first leg.

Inter do not come into this match on good form at all, failing to win any of their last five- drawing twice. Both draws came in the Champions League- home to Bayern Munich and away in Barcelona. However, three scoreless losses have potentially knocked them out of the title race and have eliminated them in the Coppa Italia. Their good fortune is their Champions League form so they will be desperate to not let a potential treble crumble completely within four games.

They are missing their competition top scorer in Martinez, so this is a massive opportunity for Marcus Thuram to take this tie by the neck. He scored just 30 seconds into the first leg, so is not short on confidence in front of goal. Sommer and the rest of the Inter defence will look to find the same form they had in the league phase, which saw them make seven clean sheets- they have only one in the knockout stages.

Barcelona Preview, Form and Standout Players

Barcelona Predicted Lineup (4-2-3-1): Szczesny; Martin, Martinez, Cubarsi, Garcia; Pedri, de Jong; Raphinha, Olmo, Yamal; Torres.

The visitors will be without Robert Lewandowski, Alejandro Balde and Jules Kounde for this crucial second leg match.

This is Barcelona’s first away trip since their only defeat of 2025. Since then they beat Celta Vigo 4-3, followed by a 1-0 win against Mallorca. They defeated Real Madrid 3-2 in extra time to lift the Copa del Rey- the first of three trophies they are searching for. They sit top of La Liga too with five games to play so will hope to secure a spot in the final here to stay in with a treble opportunity.

Unlike Inter, Barcelona have their top rated player and top scorer at their disposal, in Raphinha. In Lewandowski absence he will need to step up as this will be a very entertaining, end-to-end game.

Head-to-head Comparison

The two sides do feature in each others' groups rather often in this competition, however, did not meet in the league phase. Barcelona have a slight edge over Inter in head-to-head, with two wins, to Inter’s one, with two draws.
