One of the fiercest rivalries in international football returns for just a third edition. This will be the first time Albania and Serbia have played each other in over a decade and looks to be an exciting match as both clubs gun to qualify for the World Cup.
Sharing group K with England is tough; however, with Latvia and Andorra the other two nations in the group of five, the Red and Blacks will fancy their chances to qualify for the play-offs (granted by a second place finish). Especially with a win against Serbia. They have two wins, a draw, and two losses in their last five games.
Predicted Line Up: Strakosha, Balliu, Ajeti, Djimsiti, Aliji, Shehu, Asllani, Broja, Hoxha, Laci, Manaj
Rey Manaj is currently Albania’s active player with the most goals, helped by the brace he scored last time out for his nation. The forward is one of the Red and Blacks’ most threatening players.
Serbia will also fancy their chances for the second spot in group K, with Albania their closest rivals for it. The Eagles have recently picked up results against Austria, Denmark, and Switzerland, putting them in good standing to qualify for their third straight World Cup. They themselves have three draws, one win, and one loss in their last five.
Predicted Line Up: Rajkovic, Erakovic, Milenkovic, Pavlovic, Zivkovic, Terzic, Maksimovic, Gudelj, Samardzic, Lukic, Vlahovic
Nikola Milenkovic has just capped off a brilliant season by winning Nottingham Forest’s Player of the Season award. With him at the centre of Serbia’s defence, Albania will struggle to score.
With all their political disagreements, it is probably for the best that Albania and Serbia have only had two previous meetings. The first ever meeting was abandoned at 0-0 after an on the pitch brawl took place, with Albania eventually being award a 3-0 win. Their only two meetings are as follows:
Albania have a huge advantage playing at home and with so much at stake this will be an exciting game that ends as a stalemate. For this reason, our betting experts say FT Draw is the best value tip for this game. With odds at 2.75, a bet of £10 could see a potential return of up to £27.50.
