It may well be the international break, but that doesn’t mean we’re giving up on our expert tips, instead we’re bringing you the best tips and predictions for the Nations League.
We’re taking a look at Sunday’s fixture, where Ralf Rangnick’s Austria host Stale Solbakken’s Norway.
Both team sit in the top half of Group B3 in the Nations League, separated by the three points Norway gained with their win over Austria last time.
Austria will be looking to catch up to their opponents points tally. Whilst Norway will want to put some space between them and the rest of the group.
Austria Predicted Line-up - Patrick Pentz; Stefan Posch, Michael Svoboda, Philipp Lienhart, Alexander Prass; Nicolas Seiwald, Konrad Laimer, Marcel Sabitzer; Romano Schmid, Christoph Baumgartner; Marco Arnautovic
Austria need to pull off a result here if they’re to stay in the mix for a top two finish, given Slovenia look likely to beat Kazakhstan.
Should they pull off a draw, they’ll still be likely to do this, and a win would be the cherry on top.
Captain Marcel Sabitzer’s quality will be absolutely vital in anything they do here.
Norway Predicted Line-up - Orjan Nyland; Kristoffer Ajer, Leo Ostigard, Andreas Hanche-Olsen, David Moller Wolfe; Marcus Pedersen, Morten Thorsby, Sander Berge, Antonio Nusa; Alexander Sorloth, Erling Haaland
A win for the away side would see them put a six point gap between them and their opponents, and potentially the whole league, should Slovenia somehow crumble.
Lose, and the League is blown wide open, so a win is very important for Norway.
Sander Berge was excellent against Slovenia, committing zero fouls whilst still dominating the stats for ball recoveries.
Haaland should prove too much to handle, we all know how dangerous he can be. He scored two in their last fixture.
The two teams have met three times since 2020. Of these fixtures, each side has won one game each, whilst one has resulted in a draw.
9th September 2024 - Norway 2-1 Austria - Nations League
18th November 2020 - Austria 1-1 Norway - Nations League
4th September 2020 - Norway 1-2 Austria - Nations League
Despite the historical closeness of this fixture, I think Norway will secure all three points here. Austria will be too desperate to win that it will actually play in their opponent’s favour.
Haaland will remain unstoppable, and if Sander Berge plays like he did last time out they’ll be hard to best in midfield.
We think overall the best value tip is Norway to win, backed up by our research.
Odds of 49/20 on HighBet mean that a £10 bet has the potential to return up to £34.50 in this match.
(odds subject to change)
Austria 1-2 Norway
Norway will secure their status at the top of group B3, with an excellent win over Austria.
Elsewhere in the Nations League, Finland take on England.
