Inappropriate FPL Names, New Rules & Hidden Gems for 2025/26

Fantasy Premier League: Inappropriate Names, New Rules and Under-the-radar Assets

With the Premier League edging ever closer to lifting it's opening curtain for yet another enthralling new season, the exact same can by said for Fantasy Premier League.

FPL managers around the world are deliberating over their teams, trying to find the balance between premium and bargain, and looking to get the edge in their mini leagues for the first few Gameweeks.

Here at Football Park, we could sit here and give you yet another rambling article about the perfect chip strategy and advise you on exactly who to pick- but that's been done before and is quite frankly a bit boring...

So instead, we are going to take a look at what could be the most important part of your FPL identity. The team name.

Every year people rack their brains for the perfect pun to represent their team for the upcoming season. Whether it be incorporating your favourite player, a new signing, or walking the tightrope of inappropriate.

And of all those options, which seems the most fun to you? If you said the last one- well all we can say is this article is probably for you...

So let's get into it.

The New Rules

Before we do dive into the 'mildly inappropriate FPL names' section, we will first briefly fulfil our duties as a serious company by giving a little overview of what has changed on FPL for the coming season.

I know, I know- boring. But it has to be done.

Defensive Contribution Points

For the 25/26 season FPL has introduced a points scoring system which rewards defensive contributions.

Any defender who reaches a total of 10 clearances, blocks, interceptions and tackles combined in a single match will receive two extra points on their total.

This is slightly different for midfielders and forwards who will also have ball recoveries count toward this total but will instead need to get a combined total of 12 defensive actions to receive the two extra points.

Two Sets of Chips

Where managers used to have one Wildcard, Triple Captain, Bench Boost and Free hit to last them the entire season, they will now have two sets of each chip.

The first set will be used between Gameweek 1 and 19, managers will then be handed a second set of chips to see them through to the end of the campaign in Gameweek 38.

If the first set of chips are not used before Gameweek 19 they will not be carried over into the second half of the season.

Extra Transfers for AFCON

Managers will be given extra free transfers due to AFCON's presence from Gameweek 16.

No matter the number of transfers you have at that point, every manager will have them topped up to the maximum of five- allowing those who have a squad filled with African players to ready their squad easier for the tournament.

Changes to Bonus Point System and Assists

There have been tweaks made to the bonus point scoring mechanism with actions such as saves and tackles now earning more points within the system which will have a knock-on effect to who gets the bonus points at the end of the game.

There have also been changes to the way assists are rewarded, players will now be awarded the assist on FPL if there was a defensive touch before the ball reached its intended target- this wasn't the case last year and FPL have said that if this system was in place, there would have been 41 more assists last season.

Mildly Inappropriate FPL Names

Right, now that is out of the way it's time for the bit you've all been waiting for.

Here is a list of 15 FPL names, which may be ever so slightly contentious as to how appropriate they are, that you may want to use for you team this season.

Note- use these names entirely at your own risk, Football Park takes no responsibility for any warnings or bans from FPL you may incur as a result of this article, because let's be honest here, you probably will... disclaimer out of the way- here we go!

Yeah, think that might be enough.

As previously mentioned, with FPL cracking down on names that could be deemed offensive or inappropriate, the likelihood of any of those names being accepted is essentially zero. But it's still fun to brainstorm isn't it...

Under the Radar FPL Picks?

To finish off, let's take a little look at some under the radar picks who could really elevate your inappropriately named teams in the 25/26 season.

Players are always looking for those hidden gems who will score points and free up cash to go after the more premium players, so here is some that you might not have thought of who could light up the league next season.

El Hadji Malick Diouf- West Ham- £4.5m

Wan-Bissaka has been a popular pick so far for FPL managers with both defensive contribution and attacking points on offer with the full-back.

However, on the other side of West Ham's defence is new arrival Malick Diouf who looks like he could be an under the radar option for your squads.

Diouf last season scored 7 goals and got 3 assists from left-back for Slavia Prague and has already got an assist in pre-season for his new club.

Diouf will likely be West Ham's starter I that position with only Ollie Scarles marking an alternate option and in a system which favours attacking full-backs, Diouf could well be on for a solid season with good returns, for a very handy price.

Tijani Reijnders- Man City- £5.5m

As far as out-and-out midfielders go, the former AC Milan man is about as much of an attacking threat as they come.

With 10 goals and 4 assists in Serie A for a Milan side who finished 8th last season, put him in a Man City side who's signings would suggest a more attack focused approach this season, and you could be looking at some monster returns.

Not to mention that, if last seasons stats are anything to go by, Reijnders could be hovering around the defensive contribution points in a lot of games too.

There could be some rotation risk as nobody quite knows exactly what Pep Guardiola is thinking, but theres a strong chance Reijnders establishes himself as a starter pretty quickly making him a really interesting FPL option.

Geoginio Rutter- Brighton- £6.0m

Rutter ended last season with 5 goals and 3 assists in the league for Brighton. Not massively inspiring I know, but here me out here.

Rutter's minutes last season were very much shared with Joao Pedro and he was often rotated into wide positions as well. This season, with Evan Ferguson also leaving the club for Roma, Rutter could well play as more of a focal point for the Seagulls and will likely get more guaranteed minutes throughout the campaign.

Again, some may consider this one a risk due to his form last season, but at £6.0m he could be one to watch out for going forward.

Donyell Malen- Aston Villa- £5.5m

Malen arrived at Villa last season in January and probably didn't get the minutes he would have hoped when he made the switch.

But now, both Rashford and Asensio's loans have ended. There is some rumours around Villa's other attacking talent too, and this could clear the way for Malen to really shine.

Already in pre-season the Dutchman has 2 goals and 2 assists in 4 games, and with the friendly start to the campaign in terms of fixture difficulty, Malen could be a low price, high reward option if you are looking for Aston Villa assets.

Jhon Arias- Wolves- £5.5m

With Matheus Cunha having joined Manchester United this summer, Wolves' new signing Arias comes in to fill those shoes.

And, whilst they are sizeable shoes to fill, Arias has an unbelievably consistent set of attacking returns throughout his career. Arias has hit double figures for goals 4 times and double figures for assists 3 times in the last 5 seasons.

Pair that with the goal-scoring cameo in his pre-season Wolves debut which saw him enter the field for just the last 26 minutes, and Arias could be an excellent asset to own when Wolves have a good run of fixtures this season.
