Plymouth Argyle striker Bim Pepple has now scored five goals in his last seven games, taking over the goalscoring responsibility from the injured Lorent Tolaj. The English international has come into a rich vein of form recently, helping Argyle climb up to 12th in League One.
The Pilgrims signed Pepple on 4th July 2025 from Luton Town as one of the replacements for Ryan Hardie. The former Hatters player spent last season on loan at Southend United and Chesterfield where he scored 16 goals across 44 games.
Pepple has struggled to get regular minutes for most of the season, coming off the bench or even being left out of the squad on multiple occasions. However, since Gameweek 24 at the start of January, the 23-year-old has started every game.
An injury to Owen Oseni in the 17th minute against Wycombe Wanderers at the end of December meant Pepple finally had his chance. And boy did he take it. Pepple went on to score a 94th minute equaliser against The Chairboys, and hasn’t looked back since.
The former Luton forward has scored five goals in nine appearances including the Wycombe game, a brilliant record for a striker that was left out of the squad for six games in a row earlier in the season.

As previously mentioned, Pepple has struggled to get regular minutes this season, playing in just 18 out of a possible 28 League One fixtures before Tolaj suffered a dead leg against Luton Town.
Out of those 18 games that Pepple featured in he only started in seven, with the rest of his appearances coming in the form of substitutions. The 23-year-old recorded three goals and one assist across this period, a poor record due to the combination of lack of game time and struggling to adapt to life in League One.
Pepple has started up front in all four matches that Tolaj has been absent from, scoring three goals across that period. The striker played 90 minutes against Mansfield Town and Stockport County, but was reduced to 45 minutes against Lincoln City due to a nasty eye injury.
Argyle’s summer signing had given the hosts the lead on the 11th minute, however a blow to the head left Pepple with a swollen right eye. Therefore the Plymouth striker was removed from proceedings at halftime, but was deemed fit enough to start on the weekend against Blackpool.

The 23-year-old bounced back with a goal in his side’s 4-0 away win over The Seasiders, proving what an important asset he is to Tom Cleverley’s team. Although his goal did come at a cost, as Pepple has said he chipped his tooth whilst going to head the ball!
Swiss forward Tolaj was back on the bench against Blackpool, so it will be interesting to see how Cleverley opts to deploy his star strikers in the coming weeks. Tolaj and Pepple have started together already this season, and if the former can get back to his goalscoring ways, Plymouth will be hoping a late play-offs charge will be on the cards.
