Sky Bet Championship Top Scorer Odds 2025/26: Early Odds and Best Bets
The Sky Bet Championship is right around the corner, with it all kicking off on the 8th August when Birmingham City host Ipswich Town.
The bookies are now starting to get their odds out for who will take home the Championship golden boot. The race is looking interesting this year. Leicester, Ipswich and Southampton were relegated from the Premier League last season and subsequently some of their attackers will look to fire their teams back up to the top division.
Many of the top scorers in the Championship last season have also been promoted to the Premier League, but a few remain that will no doubt be near the top of the list yet again.
With that being said, this is Football Park's guide on the best bets for the Championship top scorer for this upcoming season.
This year, the odds suggest that the Championship top goal scorer race is going to be quite close and open, with the favourite here sitting at odds of 11.0.
The Southampton forward had an uninspired year in the Premier League last time out, only scoring 2 goals throughout the league campaign. However, he has proved that he can score goals in the second-tier.
He had two successive loans for Preston North End and Middlesbrough from 2021 to 2023, in which he scored 18 league goals across the two seasons. If he gets up to that standard he will certainly be a threat for the golden boot, but he will have to put last season behind him.
The best odds for this market is 11.0 on Ladbrokes, which is considerably better than the 7.5 odds advertised on Bet365. You can use our offer for Ladbrokes here.

An exciting striker for a reformed Birmingham City, Stansfield fired in 19 goals in League One last season and was joint second highest goalscorer. He also scored 12 goals for Birmingham in the 2023/24 Championship season, despite them being relegated.
Everything suggests that Stansfield could be the talisman for Birmingham City this season and he is well in contention to be challenging for the Championship golden boot.
We at Football Park also believe Stansfield is significantly better value than Cameron Archer due to his reliable goalscoring ability in the last two campaigns.
You can find Stansfield at odds of 10.0 on Bet365, but you should be looking for better value and you can find that on William Hill, Betfred, Ladbrokes and Coral at odds of 11.0.

This is a strange one being this high up on the list, however it does show how open the race for golden boot is this season. Ipswich were relegated from the Premier League last season and Hirst only managed 3 goals in 26 appearances. In Ipswich's championship season in 2023/24, he also only managed 7 league goals.
However, with this upcoming league campaign, Hirst is set to lead the line after Liam Delap's departure to Chelsea. This may give him the opportunity to show his goalscoring ability.
Hirst is similar odds to Stansfield but in our opinion is a less value pick to bet on. His lowest price is 10.0 odds at Bet365 but his best value is available at Betfred, Ladbrokes and Coral at 11.0
George Hirst has enjoyed a strong start to Ipswich Town's pre-season campaign, scoring three goals in their opening two friendlies. 💪

Tractor Boys fans, do you think he has what it takes to be your chief marksman this season? 🤔#ITFC pic.twitter.com/GN4WujtLjc
Another Ipswich player, the bookies really expect them to produce a promotion charge back to the Premier League.
This, in our opinion, is a better value pick than Hirst. Szmodics has a proven track record in the Championship, despite a lacklustre season in the Premier League last season.
For Blackburn Rovers in the Championship, Szmodics scored 33 league goals in 79 appearances, an impressive tally for an attacking midfielder. If he can summon that kind of form it would be silly to discount him in this race.
His lowest odds are 13.0 with Bet365, but Betway has great odds of 15.0. This is definitely worth a go, due to his previous track record in the Championship and Ipswich's potential promotion push.

sammie szmodics. Ipswich bought szmodics last summer from Blackburn for an undisclosed fee. Last season didn’t work out tho as he only played 20 times scoring 4 goals. However with how good he was last time he was in the championship I think he is one to watch #ITFC pic.twitter.com/Xx7OWopaiJ
Armstrong has long been the old reliable Championship striker who is guaranteed to score you plenty of goals in the second-tier, despite his low scoring numbers in the Premier League.
When Southampton where last in the Championship, Armstrong was second top scorer with 24 goals. You can definitely fancy him to do this again and possibly be the golden boot winner.
This pick represents good value on Ladbrokes and Coral, with odds of 15.0. You can use our exclusive offers on our home page here.

The market is quite open for Kyogo Furahashi for top scorer, and there is quite a spread between different bookmakers.
Kyogo was a potent attacker for Celtic for several seasons, but made the move to Ligue 1 last season and failed to score.
Birmingham City have took a chance on the Japanese player, hoping that he can recreate Celtic form in the Championship.
Betting on Kyogo is certainly a punt, but a punt that could well pay off. His best odds are 17.0 which are available on Bet365, Boylesports and Quinnbet.
If you would like to bet on this market, you can use our Quinnbet offer here.
This is our best pick for Championship top scorer this season, with some incredible odds available.
Ivanovic had an impressive first campaign with Millwall last season, scoring 12 goals. But Millwall fans tip him to go even higher than that this season, and at times he's looked unplayable.
He has even been linked with multiple clubs over the summer, including Lazio, Everton and Wolves. We would not be surprised if the 20-year-old 6ft 2 in striker is in the running for the golden boot this season, especially if Millwall are challenging further up the table again.
