The Best Player At Every Premier League Club This Season
As the Premier League season draws closer to its finale, it is time to look at the players that have shone through, week in, week out, and impressed. 2024/25 has been a season to remember – filled with twists, turns, and surprises.
So, with some that are harder than others, who has every Premier League club’s best player been so far this season?

Top of the Premier League table, their name half engraved in the English top-flight’s trophy, and a seeming transition into the reign of Arne Slot. Liverpool have been the best team in the division this season, and Mohamed Salah has been the league’s unhinged flag bearer. Scoring 25 goals and 17 assists in 28 at the age of 32 years old, it would be a travesty to lose the Egyptian in the summer for the Reds.
It has been a season that has been neither impressive nor disappointing for the Gunners, a chance to finally lift the Premier League title again as City slip up, but Liverpool’s top form and injuries have been their kryptonite. In terms of the best player, as attacking big hitters sit out with injuries, it is hard to look past the defensive rock of William Saliba. 25 appearances, two goals, a pass accuracy of 93.9%, a duel success of 61.95, and 110 recoveries. Apart from an uncharacteristic red card against Bournemouth, Saliba has been phenomenal again this season.
Sitting in third place in the Premier League table, Forest have been fantastic, as several players could be picked as their best. At the back, the Premier League’s golden glove frontrunner Matz Sels, towering Serbian centre-half Nikola Milenkovic, or the creative genius of Morgan Gibbs-White. However, wherever you go in that Forest side, it leads back to one man, and his goals cannot be understated as Chris Wood is having the season of his life. 18 league goals and one league hat-trick, Wood’s direct, old-school, and physical playstyle being the perfect balance in front of Nuno’s electric counter-attack behind him.
Now, you might well be screaming through your screen with this selection. Erling Haaland has 20 goals in 26 Premier League appearances and leads the scoring charts for another season. However, in a season that Manchester City have not been the dominant force we have known in recent years. Josko Gvardiol has been consistently solid, operating in a City defence that has struggled in large parts this season. Compared to other fullbacks, the Croatian sits above 96% for touches, 69% for aerial duels won, 87% for shot attempts, and 97% for goals (5) as the 23-year-old continues his path to becoming one of Europe’s top defenders.
Improvement is the word to describe Chelsea’s first season under Enzo Maresca, challenging for the Champions League spots and playing a calculated style of football. Even so, one thing that has remained constant at Stamford Bridge has been Cole Palmer and his renewal of being the main man in the blue side of London. Palmer having scored 14 goals, with the England international also creating six. Despite his current run of tough form, going scoreless in his last eight appearances, it is hard to deny that Palmer is Chelsea’s hitmaker.
Alexander Isak has 25 G/in his last 24 games for Newcastle 🤯

Newcastle United have been one of the Premier League’s strongest sides this season, sat in sixth place after an exceptional end to 2024. Bruno Guimaraes, Anthony Gordon, and Lewis Hall have all wowed, but Alexander Isak has solidified himself as one of the Premier League’s and the world’s best strikers. In 24 top-flight appearances, the Swede has been lethal, averaging 0.86 goals per 90 (19). Alongside his goalscoring ability, Isak has offered the Magpies so much more, through his tall and dynamic frame, exceptional balance, skill, and ball control. By trade, Isak is a poacher, but he is also secondly a creator, sitting above 94% of strikers for chances created and supplying his team with five assists. If Eddie Howe’s side were to fail to qualify for European football or win a trophy this season, they may find it hard to keep the 25-year-old as several clubs will no doubt battle for his signature in the summer.
One of many top young players on the south coast, while the attacking talents of Antoine Semenyo and Justin Kluivert will gain the headlines, Milos Kerkez has been outstanding for Bournemouth this season. With two goals and four assists in the Premier League for the young Hungarian defence, Kerkez has taken a huge leap from his first season at the club, looking like a complete and talented left fullback on both ends of the game.
After a strong start, followed by a rocky midpoint, Brighton now look more than comfortable with life under Fabian Hurzeler, and in true Seagulls fashion is it not going to be long before Carlos Baleba is snapped up by one of Europe’s elites. The engine and the best player in Brighton’s side this season, the Cameroonian was brought in to replace Moises Caicedo but now sits as one of the Premier League’s best midfielders. Per 90, Baleba has averaged a pass accuracy of 87.8%, 58 touches, 7.01 duels won, and 6.46 recoveries this season.
It has been another enjoyable season at Craven Cottage for Fulham fans under Marco Silva, 9th in the Premier League, and in reaching distance with the European spots. Alex Iwobi has been a real player to watch for the Whites, the Nigerian is at the top of his game – playing with a confident level of swagger. Predominately starting on the wing, Iwobi has been Fulham’s key to creativity this season, averaging 2.07 shots, 1.46 successful dribbles, and 1.95 chances created per 90. At the age of 28-year-old, the former Arsenal man seems to have found a home and a team that heavily compliments his skillset.
Despite the excitement and headlines caused by Aston Villa’s January signings, the spotlight has constantly been set on Morgan Rogers. The 22-year-old has not had a straight-forward journey, developing at Manchester City, before being sent on loan spells at Lincoln City and Bournemouth. However, since joining Villa from Middlesborough, it is hard to describe Rogers as anything but spectacular. With close control, creativity, and skillful dribbling, alongside seven goals and four assists in the Premier League this season, a senior call-up does not look too far away for the Villain’s main man.
18 goals and assists in his last 22 @premierleague games ✨

Sat 12th in the table, it has been another comfortable season in the top-flight for Brentford, but when it comes to their best player this season, it is an easy choice. As always, Bryan Mbeumo leads the way for the Bees, having scored 15 goals, while also creating four in 27 Premier League appearances. The Cameroonian international is a handful for any top-flight defender, and at the age of 25 years of age, Mbeumo looks at the top of his game.
Leading on from his first season at the club, Oliver Glasner has Crystal Palace playing entertaining football again – spearheaded by Jean-Philippe Mateta and Ismalia Sarr. Despite this, the foundation to success for the Eagles this season has been their defence. After joining from Wolfsburg in the summer, Maxence Lacroix has been tremendous, perfectly working in Glasner’s back three system due to his electric recovery pace. During this season, Lacroix has a tackle success rate of 60.0% and a duels success rate of 61.0% as he continues to impress in South London.
In what has been a very disappointing campaign so far in North London, it is hard to find a consistent best player, as many of Tottenham’s big hitters missing large spells due to injury. However, Dejan Kulusevski has been a bright spark, offering his services on the wing or in the centre of the midfield, the Swede has impressed this season. With seven goals and four assists, Kulusevski is one player in a struggling Spurs side that can hold his head high.
The less said, the better this season for Manchester United as the club continues to perish from the giant that they once were. 14th place in the table under Ruben Amorim, Old Trafford isn’t the best to be right now, but Amorim’s fellow countryman Bruno Fernandes continues to lead United on the pitch. Scoring six goals and seven assists in the Premier League, Fernandes is accustomed to taking games by the scruff of the neck for his team.
West Ham were one of the dark horses going into the 2024/25 Premier League season, with £100m spent on talent and a new manager appointed in Julian Lopetegui. That would not completely translate, one of their summer acquisitions being the outlier as Aaron Wan-Bissaka has looked back to his best in claret and blue. Known for his defensive one-on-one ability, Wan-Bissaka had fallen out of favour at Manchester United before joining the Hammers in the summer. The West Ham fullback wins 70.8% of his tackles, 5.11 duels, and 5.19 recoveries per 90 while adding two goals and two assists to his game. Jarrod Bowen will gain the plaudits, but the 27-year-old has quietly gone about his business in London and might even be in the plans of England manager Thomas Tuchel.
Illiman Ndiaye has completed more take-ons (58) than any other player in the Premier League this season.

Following a tough spell under Sean Dyche and the incoming possibility of another relegation scrap for Everton, David Moyes has shown that age is just a number, clawing the Toffees fifteen points above the dotted line. It’s not only Moyes who has gotten the Everton fans cheering this season. Since joining from Marseille, Iliman N’Diaye has brought a level of skill and flair back to Goodison Park that many would not have seen since Steven Piernaar. After finding the goal six times in blue, the Senegalese international has had a fine start to life in Merseyside.
Possibly the easiest pick in the whole division, Matheus Cunha has been a level above his teammates and most players in and around Wolverhampton Wanderers in the table. 13 goals with numerous thunderbolts and magical moments of brilliance. The only downside to the Brazilian’s season has been uncontrollable temper on the pitch.
In a tough season for the Tractor Boys, Liam Delap has been a nightmare for Premier League defenders ever since joining Ipswich from Manchester City in the summer. After a trio of Championship loans, the Englishman now looks more than comfortable in the Premier League, netting 10 goals in 27 league appearances. Delap will be in the Premier League next season, regardless of the future of Ipswich Town.
Leicester City, flashes and moments of brilliance have been shown, but it does not seem that will be enough to keep the Foxes in the division as Leicester continue to struggle under the leadership of Ruud Van Nistelrooy. Bilal El Khannouss is one player that has raised a few eyebrows for the Foxes. A young central attacking midfielder with a pass accuracy of 79.7% and a dribble success of 64.9%, Khannouss has potential.
I think it’s fair to say that it has been a nightmare for every player at Southampton this season. Saints sit bottom of the table with a pre-mature feeling of grieving as they look set for another season in the Championship next season. Joining from Sporting in the summer, Matheus Fernandes has provided somewhat of a positive for Saints fans this season. A creative central midfield who can also do his dirty work, placing above 95% of midfielders for defensive actions, and at 20 years of age, Fernandes’ future may not be a St. Mary’s.
