When you think of English teams that have won the quadruple, who do you think of? Manchester United, Liverpool or Chelsea maybe. No one. Not one English team has ever won the quadruple in history and for the time being, it will stay that way.
The closest club to have ever won the quadruple is Man United's 1998-99 side, who won the treble or Liverpool's 21/22 side, who also won the treble. They were just short. A quadruple, in simple terms, is when a club wins four trophies in a single season.
This is where the continental clubs fit in. Those who have completed the quadruple have done it in some style and there are some big names on this list. It is important to mention, no team has one the fabled quadruple in the modern era, which involves the Champions League. This includes the league, both domestic cups and a continental competition.
This Celtic side were history makers, or as they were referred to back then, the Lisbon Lions. Not only were they the first British team to do this, but they are the only team ever to complete a true quadruple. They won the European Cup, Scottish First Division, Scottish Cup, Scottish League Cup and the Glasgow Cup. So technically, it counts as a quintuple but it's still a history-making quadruple. Managed by Jock Stein, they are regarded as Celtic's best side ever.
They managed to score a jaw-dropping 196 goals that season and were the first British side to ever win the European Cup. A thrilling 2-1 win over Italian giants Inter Milan wrote history for the Scottish side and were a side full of players from Scotland, which has only been done twice by the way.
There was a time when the Glasgow cup was thought of as an important trophy to win. In this tie from 1966, 76,456 fans turned up to watch Celtic dismantle Rangers 4-0 at Ibrox. Bobby Lennox was on fire that evening... pic.twitter.com/mx4bP62JuG

Moving closer to modern times, Bayern Munich have always dominated the German division. However, they have notably completed the quadruple twice over and only seven years apart.
There was a certain German player that was a part of both sides. That was of course Thomas Müller, who is a legend at Bayern Munich and holds a record 13 Bundesliga titles with the club. Spanish midfielder Javi Martinez also featured for both quadruple-winning sides.
Focusing back on the club, the 2012/13 season included the DFL Supercup, Bundesliga, DFB Pokal and the Champions League. The side had some notable names, such as Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery, who were absolutely electric down the wings for Bayern. They broke an abundance of records and were Bayern's most dominant side to date. Another notable moment was their 7-0 thrashing of Barcelona on aggregate in the Champions League semi-final, a feat rivalled by few others to this day.
The 2019/20 Bayern side weren't as spectacular as their predecessors, but they were still a force to be reckoned with. It could be argued that they won the better competitions, as they added a Club World Cup to the quadruple, replacing the DFL Supercup. Oh don't forget the Bundesliga, DFB Pokal and the Champions League.
Bayern 2012/2013 is arguably the biggest redemption story out of any team at least in my lifetime, to go from losing every single trophy in 2011/2012 season, including a Champions League final at home, to then win everything in 2012/2013 season, just wow pic.twitter.com/1I0PPMUkwz

Yes, this is not a joke; PSG have won the quadruple on four separate occasions. It would be very confusing trying to list all the different trophies that they won on all four occasions so we are just going to focus on their most recent quadruple.
The recent 2024-25 season was PSG's best and really showed they aren't just a team that plays in a farmers league. They won their first-ever Champions League alongside the Trophée des Champions, Ligue 1 and the Coupe de France.
It was their first season without starboy Kylian Mbappe, but Ousmane Dembele quickly filled his shoes, winning the 2025 Ballon d'Or. It was his performances that drove this PSG side to the promised land with 35 goals in all competitions. The Champions League was also a breeze for them, beating Inter Milan 5-0 in the final. Don't be shocked if they do it again this year.
Whilst you might have thought that Real Madrid would have done it more than twice, they did do it twice in a row. Their 2016/17 run consisted of a UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup, La Liga and UEFA Champions League and their 2017/18 run was an impressive Supercopa de España, UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup and UEFA Champions League.
Their 2017/18 success was Cristiano Ronaldo's last season at The Galacticos and he went out with, of course, another Champions League. This was their third in a row and were the only team to achieve this feat since Bayern Munich in 1976. The 2017/18 final was one to remember with a stunning overhead kick from Gareth Bale and a Loris Karius disaster class. 2017/18 Real Madrid was arguably the best side in Champions League history.
