Why This Premier League Club MUST Sign Jorgen Strand Larsen

Former Wolves Star Set For January Exit

It seems inevitable that Jorgen Strand Larsen will be leaving Wolves in the January window. A host of Premier League clubs are lining up for his services, and rumors have circulated that Tottenham Hotspur are the latest team to show interest in the Norwegian. Given Tottenham's luxurious record of window shopping, we are here to set the record straight and state which club he should move to this month.

Strand Larsen has made it clear that he wants away from Wolves, so perhaps his poor form so far this season can be excused as a protest. Given his 14 Premier League goals last season, the £40 million price tag looks appealing for a side missing their key man in front of goal.

Nottingham Forest have failed to maintain their strong form from last season, and it is evident that they're missing the goals from Chris Wood in this campaign. They signed a competent replacement in Igor Jesus ; the Brazilian has already scored seven goals since joining the club. The problem lies with his league returns : just one goal in 20 attempts , and it may or may not have come against Wolves. The Reds sit 17th in the division, just one spot above the relegation places, but ground out a crucial win against West Ham to go seven points clear of their relegation rivals. You'd fancy Sean Dyche to keep them out of trouble, a man who has established a reputation for keeping underperforming teams in the division with his unique style of football. This is where the problem lies : the absence of a big man up top. If Dyche could make Danny Ings and Sam Vokes look like Messi and Ronaldo, then Strand Larsen may give Haaland a run for his money in the national team.

We can understand why Forest have shown interest in the 25-year-old. A side riddled with creative quality and specialized in their wing play, with the likes of Callum Hudson-Odoi and Omari Hutchinson causing nightmares for defenders. What is missing is the target man who can thrive off the abundance of chances created. All but two of Strand Larsen's 14 goals were from inside the box, and he developed a tendency to be in the right place at the right time.

As touched upon, Dyche tends to employ a style of 'get it into the box for the big man,' and we think that this is a perfect match for the strengths of Strand Larsen. The 6'4" striker provides that aerial threat and goal-scoring prowess to go with it, so a match made in heaven might be the perfect way to describe this potential transfer.Whilst the evergreen Chris Wood remains sidelined with an injury and Taiwo Awoniyi is clearly out of favor in this Forest side, Strand Larsen would have the chance to prove his worth from the get-go, and it would be no surprise to see him thrive in Forest colors.

While this sounds all good and well, Forest faces stiff competition from both Spurs and Newcastle United for Strand Larsen. Both sides bring the appeal of Champions League football and will be looking to bolster their attacking units in January, given their equally disappointing domestic campaigns thus far.

Newcastle is already spoiled with the likes of Nick Woltemade and Yoanne Wissa as striker options, but their track record with injuries means it is understandable why they would be in the market for another attacking option. Eddie Howe incorporates 'the big man' approach in his style of football , and it was no surprise to see Alexander Isak thrive in Newcastle colors. Chances were created in boatloads for the Swedish striker, and it would be no surprise to see Strand Larsen find the same sort of form if given a run of games in this Newcastle side.

Tottenham are far from a well-oiled machine, and there needs to be significant additions in the attacking department for this side to progress. While Richarlison has had a strong start to the campaign, the strength in numbers is a huge concern. Loanne Randall Kolo-Muani has yet to register a goal for the club, while long-term absentee Dominic Solanke remains sidelined with an ankle injury. The addition of Strand Larsen would offer fresh ideas for a side otherwise lackluster in many ways, though safe to say that not all of the Tottenham camp are best impressed with this speculation.

After weighing up the options, we can't overlook Nottingham Forest as the most suitable destination for Strand Larsen. Despite relegation concerns, the three sides below The Reds look set for the drop, and the appeal of regular football may just be enough to steer the man in demand away from their fellow transfer rivals.
