Barcelona officials were left scratching their heads, completely unfamiliar with the young winger and mystified by the sudden link to their club.
Speculation is rife that this was a bold PR exercise by Philogene’s agency, aiming to drum up interest and drive demand for their client.
Despite the confusion, it’s clear that Philogene’s agent is pulling out all the stops to elevate his profile.
Interestingly, Barcelona remains firm in their pursuit of other targets, with Nico Williams being their primary focus for wing reinforcements.

Meanwhile, back in the Premier League, Everton have submitted a proposal to Hull City for the same Jaden Philogene. This move comes as part of Sean Dyche’s strategy to strengthen his forward options.
Last season, the Toffees leaned heavily on Dwight McNeil and Jack Harrison, who were run into the ground with hefty minutes. The need for fresh talent is evident, and Philogene could be the answer.
Philogene’s stint with Hull City has been nothing short of impressive. The young winger caught the eye of former Hull manager Liam Rosenior, who couldn’t help but sing his praises. Rosenior labeled Philogene as 'ridiculous' and lauded his all-around contributions:
“His ability is something we missed for a long time. He’s only going to get better with the more games he plays. It’s not just his goal or his showreel moments, it’s his energy levels he gives the team – he works so hard."
Philogene’s talent hasn’t gone unnoticed. Alongside Everton, both Crystal Palace and Ipswich Town have also initiated contact, as confirmed by renowned transfer guru and tier 1 source Fabrizio Romano.

Decision expected soon. pic.twitter.com/FnhcGDRn9D
With Lewis Dobbin and Arnaut Danjuma having left Everton, Philogene’s potential arrival could inject the much-needed dynamism into the Toffees’ wings.
As the summer transfer window heats up, all eyes will be on Jaden Philogene and his agent’s next move.
Will the audacious PR stunt pay off, or will the young winger find his new home elsewhere in the Premier League? Only time will tell.
