Accoridng to Football League World, Charlton are ready to make a late bid to sign Derby County winger Joe Ward.
The winger who signed for the Rams in 2023 has not started a single league game this season. His late wonder strike against West Brom in the first round of the EFL cup helped take the game to a penalty shootout, seeing Derby progress despite Ward himself missing his spot kick.
They've since crashed out the cup to Burnley, with Ward being a feature from the start in both games.

Magical from Joe Ward! 🚀 pic.twitter.com/IxrBO3Ibag
The 30-year old has had great experience in the championship and League One making over 200 appearances for Peterborough United where he spent five and a half years, before moving to Derby County.
Charlton who did a lot of their business early in the window have been relatively quiet on transfers in recent weeks. They have only had players depart on loan or on a free this summer, so are potentially looking to have at least one outgoing on deadline day to recuperate their spending.
We've started our summer business with the signing of the right-sided Joe Ward! 👌

Wish @JoeJoeward22 a warm welcome, #dcfcfans! 👋#DCFC
It is likely that Joe Ward would be open to the move given the fact he has had to watch from the sideline for much of the campaign thus far. Charlton will be hoping that Ward will be at the heart of their hopes for survival should he make the switch to The Valley.
