A sold-out crowd at Easter Road was treated to an entertaining battle, as both sets of supporters made the most of Hibernian’s “Football for a fiver” campaign.
Hibernian and Motherwell shared the points after a hard-fought 1-1 draw at Easter Road, in a match that gathered momentum as it progressed. The hosts controlled early on, with a host of half-chances, forcing Calum Ward into a couple of comfortable saves. Motherwell found their groove midway through the first 45, putting together a few good moves. Tom Sparrow forced Sallinger into a save, with Elijah Just’s sighter from a free kick being caught too.
The match came to life shortly after the restart when Motherwell struck first - turning defence into attack in the blink of an eye. Tawanda Maswanhise finished off a scintillating move that started with Emmanuel Longelo's composure in his own box.

Hibs responded positively to going behind and gradually asserted greater pressure. Tom Sparrow missed a crucial header that allowed Jordan Obita to move forward with the ball, before crossing to Kieran Bowie who slammed the ball into the roof of the net from close distance, grabbing his ninth goal of the season. It's his second goal in three games as the forward continues to put himself to the forefront of Steve Clarke's mind for this summer's World Cup.

The final stages were played at a high intensity, with both teams showing ambition in search of a winning goal. Ultimately, the draw reflected the balance of the contest. While neither side will have been fully satisfied with a single point, the result underlined the competitiveness of the fixture and left both teams with positives to take into the coming weeks.
