After West Bromwich Albion made a loan move for a Manchester United prodigy, many within both camps were hoping that the young star would make a bona-fide breakthrough into starting, senior life in the game.
Unfortunately, things didn't quite work out that way with the talent being returned to Old Trafford after being hampered by a pesky injury. However, it appears that the youngster may be making a return to the EFL this winter window.

Championship clubs are keeping tabs on Toby Collyer’s situation at Manchester United this winter, after the early end of his West Brom loan, according to The Athletic.
Back in the summer, The Baggies picked Collyer up on a season-long loan from The Red Devils to mark an opportunity for the 21-year-old to pick up consistent minutes outside of Manchester.
Unfortunately, after being eased into starting action at The Hawthorns, Collyer was hit with an unfortunate injury that has left him reeling in a bid for first-team chances. Eventually, this led to his loan ending and his return to Manchester United, but he could still find a further opportunity in the Championship. Should United decide on another loan this winter, there are several second-tier sides interested in swooping in.
Once he is fit again, Collyer will not be heading back to West Brom but rather his parent side. Whilst he could stick around to offer some more competition to the first team, it is likely that a return to the Championship will be in his future this winter.
Last season, Manchester United fans were left impressed with his athleticism, spirit and work rate as a youngster in the side, and was well-regarded by Ruben Amorim as a part of his side.
Suitably, West Brom fans were excited to see what Collyer could offer the club. Sadly, however, following a string of substitute appearances to ease him into the club, injuries started to rear their heads when starting opportunities eventually came his way. After picking up a calf issue against Birmingham City, his stay at the Hawthorns was brought to a premature end.

Although his first forray into life on loan did not go to plan, Collyer will surely be determined to not let if be the be-all and end-all of his campaign. When he returns, he will have half a season left to prove his sharpness and show what he can do from a starting berth.
Alternatively, if he isn't quite ready to head straight back out on his own, Collyer could return to contention back under the guise of Amorim.
Some in the Championship may decide that Collyer is a gamble of a signing after his recent injury issues. Chances are, many will prefer someone who arrives at the club at full fitness with recent match sharpness already installed.
By the end of January, there remains a slim chance that he will not be available right off the bat which could make other options more attractive.
Regardless, there is a good reason as to why second-tier sides are interested again. When at full fitness, the quality Collyer possesses is already well-known and he remains a player with plenty to offer.
