Football Park can reveal that former Scottish U21 Marc Leonard has been targeted by clubs in the English Championship, MLS, and Belgium.
Despite high praise from manager Chris Davies back in October, saying that “he has the quality to play at international level”, the 24-year-old has been omitted from the Birmingham City matchday squad for the second weekend in a row and could now seek a move away.

It is understood that Birmingham City are only open for a loan for the midfielder, and a host of suitors have made registered their interest in Leonard in recent days.
Before Leonard’s move to Birmingham, it was known that Wrexham, Copenhagen, and LAFC were all interested, so it would not be a surprise if LAFC were to come back in for Leonard. As for Belgium, Sint-Truiden VV are the club interested, with initial discussions suggesting a loan until the end of the season is the preferred move. The Belgium side have had a remarkable campaign so far, sitting 3rd in the table and just three points off Tony Bloom owned club Union Saint-Gilloise.

In England, there have been unconfirmed rumours that Sheffield United, Huddersfield Town, and Norwich City all are keeping tabs. Wherever he ends up, a move away and a productive six months could give Marc Leonard an outside chance of making Scotland’s World Cup squad for this summer’s tournament, and his performances in the past have certainly proved he is more than capable.
