Winning just one of their last eight Premier League games, it is clear that very little is functioning as it should be at Tottenham Hotspur. The forwards are struggling to regularly chip in, the midfield is weak and lacks control, and the centre backs, despite their heroics against Burnley last time out, have failed to manage games well.
However, one area that cannot be criticised is in goal - Guglielmo Vicario has not only shown himself to be his team's best player but also one of the Premier League's finest stoppers this season, rendering backup options Antonin Kinsky and Brandon Austin unnecessary unless he suffers an injury.

As a result, Kinsky, who filled in for Vicario during a period of long absence last season, is looking for a move away from the club, and relegation-threatened London rivals West Ham have opened negotiations, stating their interest in a loan deal with an option to buy.
Had Antonin Kinsky been born five years earlier and arrived at Spurs at the same age that he did last year (21), things could have been so different for him. Spurs were still regularly testing the best sides in the land, were qualifying for Europe and were always on the hunt for Champions League football.
Instead, though, he arrived at a club in disarray last season. With Postecoglou at the helm, Spurs were floundering in 15th place, were struggling to beat the likes of Wolves and Leicester, and had lost Vicario, who had been an effective last line of defence all season, to an ankle injury that required surgery.
In addition, Fraser Forster was also unavailable, meaning the 21-year-old Kinsky was thrown into the deep end on debut for the club - he was tasked with keeping runaway league leaders Liverpool at bay in the EFL Cup semi-final first leg.
The Czech national kept a clean sheet, made six superb saves, and guided the Whites to a shock 1-0 win over the northerners to bring a little bit of light back to Spurs’ season. Though they would lose the second leg 4-1, Kinsky had made an excellent first impression.
All the hugs for new Tottenham goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky.

However, as soon as Vicario was fit enough to return to the matchday squad, Kinsky was displaced, and was forced to watch from the sidelines as the Italian forced himself into the number one spot yet again.
Had Spurs been a more consistent, challenging side to play when Kinsky was forced into the team, his excellent shot-stopping performance and accurate distribution for one so inexperienced could have earned him a starting goalkeeper role.
However, with Spurs in such a dip at the time, it would have been madness for anyone other than Vicario to start.
Understandably, Kinsky is now seeking the number one jersey elsewhere, and West Ham United are currently the only side in the race to sign him. The Czech is valued at £17 million but will likely first go on loan to the London Stadium, with the Hammers deciding whether to keep him on a permanent basis at the end of his loan spell.
