Free Multi Bet Tips - Newcastle vs Manchester United Preview and Bet Builder Tips and Predictions

The race for Europe is starting to heat up, and the temperature will be ramped up again on Tuesday night as Michael Carrick’s in-form Manchester United visit St James' Park to face Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United.

The Red Devils are still undefeated since their interim coach, Darren Fletcher, took over from Ruben Amorim’s stand-in and have looked mightily impressive. Getting the best out of the front three of Benjamin Sesko, Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha proved too much for Amorim but was step one of Carrick’s master plan, one that has seen him pick up 19 points since arriving.

Newcastle, meanwhile, have been searching for just such a vein of form but remain inconsistent, winning four and losing five in their last nine. Though scoring plenty of goals, the backline has started to show some cracks, conceding 20 goals in those nine games. Against an in-form United frontline, they could be stretched from early on here.

Resurgent United have plotted their way up to a remarkable third in the league, ahead of Aston Villa on goal difference, and will be chasing all three points to consolidate that position as their top four rivals take on Chelsea.

Newcastle, meanwhile, is looking to make a late surge towards European football next season. However, they have a lot of ground to make up – sitting 13th and eight points behind seventh-placed Brentford, wins need to start coming thick and fast if the Magpies are to even make the Conference League next year.

With so much on the line here, it is only right that you also put something at stake too. That is why Football Park has crafted two distinct bet builders, catering to those looking for both big wins and small profits and bringing you closer to the game.

Why We Are Backing This Bet

Low Risk

Unbeaten Streak Continues: Man United’s form has been talked about enough already, but in all honesty, we can’t emphasise enough how much they have improved since Carrick’s appointment as interim manager. In fact, since he arrived at the club, no other team has picked up more points than Manchester United’s 19.

With that said, it would be stupid to back against the Red Devils here, so we have decided to cover as many bases as possible and gone with a double-chance bet. If they do slip to a draw, which is more than possible in the cauldron of St James’ Park, we’ve got you covered.

Plenty of Goals: Newcastle vs Man United is a fixture that always delivers goals – in fact, in their 20 meetings across all competitions since 2015, just one has ended in a goalless draw.

Moreover, this fixture typically produces multiple goals, with two of the last four meetings tallying five goals. Over 2.5 goals seems like a more than reasonable threshold for the two teams to meet, especially considering that Newcastle have exceeded it in all of their last nine games.

Goals at Both Ends: Though the fixture promises goals, they are very rarely scored at both ends. It is a remarkable stat that in their last nine meetings, both sides have found the net on just one occasion. However, this fixture looks to be set up for both sides to go for it.

Since the start of Michael Carrick's reign, United have conceded six goals in seven games, almost averaging one per game. Meanwhile, Newcastle have conceded a whopping nine goals in their last five, despite winning three of them. With both defences capable of conceding the odd cheap goal, both front lines will likely prosper here.

High Risk

Marching Man Utd: Away from home and against a Newcastle side with the ability to either capitulate or blow away their opposition, United do face a stern test on Tuesday night. However, we are doubling down on our initial bet, with our projections indicating that Carrick’s side will come out on top in a chaotically close game.

The former United midfielder has instilled a sense of belief once again, a belief that they can win games even when things are not going their way. How else do you explain the massive influx of late goals and dramatic winners we have seen since his appointment? This game will be no less dramatic and promises to be a frantic, non-stop affair.

Super-Sesko: What is there left to say about Benjamin Sesko? Four goals in his last five, and three in his last three, and every single one of them has earned his side valuable points. To be precise, those four goals have been worth a vital eight points, a remarkable run of game-winning form.

The Slovenian has started to look like a proper Premier League striker – brimming with confidence. Now that he has had enough time to adapt to the league, the striker has started to fire on all cylinders, and against a Newcastle defence with as many holes as a sieve, we can’t see his scoring streak ending here.

Goal-Fest: This is where it becomes risky – although two of the last four games have surpassed this measure, none of the previous six achieved this feat. History is not exactly on our side here.

However, all we have to go off is recent form, and right now, the combination of United’s clutch late goalscoring and Newcastle's consistently high scorelines means this game brings the promise of a torrential downpour of goals. If there aren’t at least three, we will eat our collective hats.

Burning Fouls: Dan Burn likes to throw his weight around – at 6 ft 7 in, he’s a big boy, and he lets his opposing strikers know about it. Stiff in the air, and rarely allowing both the man and the ball to pass him, Burn is a veteran in the tackle, and his distinct lack of pace makes fouls an inevitability.

A regular in the referee’s book, Burn has been shown three yellow cards in his last six appearances across all competitions, and in two of the last three, the tall Englishman has committed multiple fouls, true to form. Faced with Mbeumo, Cunha and Sesko, their combined pace and skill could draw out more than the odd flailing leg.
