Why We Are Backing This ACCA

Villans to Continue Title Hunt

It's a clash of the claret and blue sides this weekend, as Nuno Espirito Santo's West Ham welcome an in-form Aston Villa to the London Stadium. Despite the Hammers starting to find their footing this season, we cannot look past Unai Emery's side as favourites here. Villa have won a remarkable eight games in a row in all competitions, stating their claim as title contenders despite a dismal start to their campaign. Having already defeated both Arsenal and Manchester City this season, their chances at a first Premier League title cannot be undermined.

As for West Ham, they really have struggled so far this season, taking just six points from their seven home games so far. At 18th place in the table, having scored just 17 goals so far, they may not be all too confident having to breakthrough one of the best defences in the division.

Selhurst Park Thriller

A clash between two sides fighting out in the Champions League places - Pep Guardiola's City look to back up their midweek win over Real Madrid when they head to the capital to take on a tricky Palace outfit.

Here, we see both teams to score as a safe bet, with both sides looking more than capable finding the target as this looks set to be a thriller. The Eagles have found a goal in nine of their last ten matches, while City have found three or more goals in three of their last four games; their defensive vulnerabilities have also been evident in recent games, as they conceded two goals at home to Leeds and four at Craven Cottage.

Sunderland on Top in Tyne-Wear Return

The highlight match of Super Sunday is at 2pm as PL returners Sunderland host Newcastle in the first Tyne-Wear derby in the league since 2016. These sides did meet in the FA Cup in 2024, where Newcastle comfortably won 3-0, we believe this weekend will provide a different story.

The Magpies have struggled with their form so far this season, as they are still yet to string together back-to-back league wins. Meanwhile, Regis Le Bris' side have looked really up for it this season, and we believe they will have the hunger and determination needed to make a statement in front of a home crowd.

Goals Galore at The City Ground

The fourth 2pm kick-off on Super Sunday offers what could be a cracker as Sean Dyche's Tricky Trees welcome Thomas Frank's Spurs to the Midlands. Both sides have struggled to really get going this season, but crucial wins in Europe for both sides midweek will give them both confidence to grab a result.

We can see plenty of goals here, and over 2.5 goals is not a bad idea either, with Forest's home matches this season averaging 3 per game in comparison to Spurs, whose away trips average just shy of 3.5 goals per game.

Busy Bees to Down Farke's Leeds

Sunday's main event at 4:30pm sees Brentford take on Leeds United at the Gtech Community Stadium as both sides desparately seek to get further away from the relegation battle. A home win stands out for us here, with the Middlesex outfit looking to continue their excellent form at home despite recent Leeds results.

Seeing that Leeds have done themselves very proud over the last two weeks, with four points coming from the games against Man City, Chelsea and Liverpool, but we see Brentford putting an end to this. Out of the Bees' seven home fixtures so far, they have won five of them, losing just one; meanwhile, Leeds have really struggled away from home, losing five of their seven trips. Recent head-to-head also leans the favour of the home side, as their last meeting here ended 5-2 to the Bees.
