Kick-Off: 20:00pm GMT
Wednesday evening sees a clash take place in the Netherlands between two teams who's current world's could not be more different. As high flying NEC Nijmegen host Utrecht.
The home side have been the surprise package of the dutch top flight this season, as they sit second in the Eredivisie table, with only leaders PSV bettering their points tally of 41, ahead of both Feyenoord and Ajax.
Utrecht meanwhile sit one point and one place behind their upcoming opponents in the table, however they are not in great form and winless domestically in the last six. And a recent loss to Celtic saw them knocked out the UEFA Europa League with just one point from eight games.
Historically, the two sides have had closely contested matches with NEC Nijmegen slightly edging their opponents in head-to-head results. Notably, the 2023-09-23 encounter where NEC Nijmegen emerged victorious with a convincing 3-0 win over Utrecht.

AZ Alkmaar 1-3 NEC
NEC 2-1 PEC Zwolle
De Treffers 1-2 NEC (KNVB Cup)
Life has been great for NEC, with a perfect record in recent weeks with five wins from five and no league loss since late September in what has been a hugely impressive campagin for the club so far.
Heerenveen 1-1 Utrecht
Celtic 4-2 Utrecht (UEL)
Utrecht 0-1 Sparta Rotterdam
Utrecht 0-2 Genk
FC Volendam 2-1 Utrecht
Unlike their upcoming opponents, recent form has not been kind to Utrecht, who before earning a point in their last fixture vs Heerenveen, had lost six games in a row in all competitions. The side is now also out of Europe, and haven't seen a league victory since 9th November at home to Ajax.
22 Year-old Japanese midfielder has shone for NEC this season, being one of the main players in their impressive form. WIth three goals and three assists in the Eredivise this season, he has been one of the most impressive midfielders in the division and has caught the eye of the countries biggest clubs.
French winger Yoan Cathline boasts electric pace out wide, and has the ability to create something from nothing for his side.
A spark in attack to help them back into form is what Utrecht definitely need, and Cathline is most likely to provide that.
It's hard to look past a win for NEC in this fixture, with the home side in completely contrasting form to their opponents, with an almost perfect recent record as they look to continue their strong league form.
