Gateshead started the season excellently with a 5-1 thrashing of Ebbsfleet United, and a comfortable 2-0 win over Woking. However their draw with Halifax Town in mid-week has left a mixed feeling amongst their fanbase. For this home game against Yeovil Town though, we’re backing Gateshead to take the victory.
The home advantage should bring them through a Yeovil side that has picked up two wins from their last two. Last season in the National League, Gateshead had the 6th most home wins out of any side (12). To end that campaign as well, they won five of their last six matches at their Gateshead International Stadium in the league.
They will be without key players in Greg Olley (who scored a hat-trick on the opening day) and Joe Grayson through injury, but we think their squad is strong enough to compete against Yoevil.
Yeovil Town absolutely blitzed National League South last season. But we’re expecting a similar result to the last time Yeovil Town visited Gateshead, when they were battered 4-0.
We’re backing Gateshead to win this match. Through our bookmakers you can get odds of 9/10 which would return £19 from a £10 stake.
