After what was an incredibly historic season for Xabi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen side last year, repeating it is going to be a difficult task. However we think they have what it takes to do it all over again.

Having gone the previous campaign unbeaten, Leverkusen clearly have what it takes to go and win it in multiple more seasons to come.

And luckily enough they have seemingly managed to hold on to some of their biggest stars in Florian Wirtz, Victor Boniface and for the time being at least Jeremie Frimpong as well. If they can continue to hold on to those players as well as strengthen their squad even further nobody should stand in their way.

There is of course the minor task of holding off Bayern Munich who will look to regain their title having lost out last year.

However, having appointed an unproven manager in Vincent Kompany as well as constantly providing question marks around the future of some of their star players - for example Alphonso Davies - maybe we are in for a period without Bayern dominance.

That being said, this Leverkusen team has proven it can win the title even amongst the dominance of Bayern Munich. Who says they can’t do the same again this year?
