How to Build a Winning Bet Builder

What is a Bet Builder?

Bet Builder's are an increasingly common, and popular, method of gaming through many online UK bookmakers.

Essentially, a Bet Builder is a long combination bet, where you add more and more separate bets together to create one big one. The more bets, known commonly as "legs", you add onto your bet slip in one go, the higher the odds and winning potential gets.

The reason that Bet Builders will increase in winnings potential with each leg, is the fact that all the legs on the builder have to win for you to receive your winnings.

For example, if you placed a separate £5 stake each on Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool all to win their next respective matches, and one of them fail to do so, you would still receive to smaller winnings for the other two teams. However, if all three of those bets are combined onto a Bet Builder, you would receive nothing in return. But, if all three teams did hypothetically win, then you would receive a far large winning return then you would do by betting on the teams separately.

What markets are available in Bet Builders?

Bet Builders can be built up from, most of the time, every available market on any event or fixture. You can combine multiple different markets, and multiple different events, all into one large bet. This is also known as an "Accumulator", or "Acca" for short.

Commonly, in the UK, markets such as Both Teams to Score, Match Result, Match Cards and Over/Under Total Goals are placed into Bet Builders. These are all separate markets, of course, but all of them can be placed into one big bet.

Additionally, you can also create Bet Builders that incorporate both the teams that are involved in a fixture, as well as specific players that will take part as well. Player markets such as Player to Score, Player to Receive a Card, Player Shot on Target and Goalkeeper Saves are amongst the most common selections of this manner in the UK online betting industry.

How do I make a Bet Builder

To put together a Bet Builder, you have to select at least two different markets. Select the markets and add them to your bet slip before you place any bets or make any payments.

Select as many markets as you want as part of your bet. Be mindful that some bookmakers will not allow you to exceed a certain amount of selections due to maximum winning returns.

Once you have selected the markets you wish to bet on, you will now be able to place a stake on the Accumulator in your bet slip. The method in which you can bet on your selections as one group may differ between bookmakers, but, generally speaking, this should mainly be case of opening your bet slip, inputting your stake onto a selection that has all of your selections highlighted as a group, and placing the bet.

How do I Build a Winning Bet Builder

To increase your chances of winning a Bet Builder, and to make the tool a profitable one, it is important to note a few factors.

Firstly, try and find a good blend between probability and value. Utilise data platforms such as SofaScore and Fotmob to research statistics that have repeatedly returned as a win in previous events and fixtures. If Cole Palmer has had a Shot on Target in each of his last 6 games, that would be a great bet to add to an accumulator!

Secondly, try and avoid the temptation of massive odds. Whilst a 20-fold accumulator that would return £1m from £10 looks tempting, the chances of success are obviously very low. To keep the tool profitable, make sensible selections and avoid incredibly long builders. Remember that just one losing leg will cost you the whole bet. Every leg you add, no matter how likely it is to happen, may boost your odds, but acts as just another factor that you will have to hinge hope on during the fixture.

Finally, know your limits. Gambling, at it's core, is supposed to be a game. And games are fun!

Don't plow endless resources into chasing losses, and never stake what you cannot afford to lose. Keep it small, keep it sensible and keep it consistent. Do your research, find good value, and keep the consistent wins coming in order to keep Bet Builders a profitable tool in your arsenal.
