After an enthralling and entertaining weekend of Premier League action, we now turn our attention to the midweek round of fixtures. There are storylines developing all over the place due to the results in Matchday 25, with both the title and relegation races still being wide open. So, what’s at stake in this midweek round of fixtures?
With Arsenal’s comfortable 3-0 win over Sunderland on Saturday, the pressure was all on Manchester City to get a result on Sunday against Liverpool. City hadn’t won in their last two visits to Anfield, so victory in Merseyside was always going to be difficult.
However, the Citizens managed to claim all three points from the jaws of defeat as Bernardo Silva and Erling Haaland cancelled out Dominik Szoboszlai’s magnificent free kick. It means City keep the gap to league leaders Arsenal at six points, staying in touching distance and keeping their title hopes alive.
Pep Guardiola’s side host Fulham on Wednesday evening, with Mikel Arteta’s men travelling to Brentford on Thursday. It means that the Gunners will be the team with the pressure to perform this time round, as Manchester City have the potential to close the gap to three points if they beat the Cottagers.
One thing's for certain though, and that is City are very much in the hunt for the Premier League title.

After losing to Nottingham Forest on the 6th January, West Ham looked almost certain to be relegated to the Championship. However, with three wins from their last four games, the Hammers find themselves just three points behind Forest.
It was a comfortable 2-0 win for the Irons on the weekend as they easily swept aside fellow relegation candidate Burnley. Crysencio Summerville scored yet again for West Ham and now has five goals in his last five games.
However, the Irons came up against another club in good spirits in the form of Manchester United on Tuesday night. It therefore won’t be an easy task for the Hammers to overcome, as the Red Devils look to make it five successive wins.
But in spite of their good form, United have failed to win in their last three visits to the London Stadium. It serves as a warning that the high-flying Hammers could have more of a chance than at first glance.

Despite losing only one of their last five Premier League games, Nottingham Forest still find themselves in the midst of a relegation battle. As aforementioned, the Reds are just three points above the drop zone and are in need of a victory following their 3-1 loss to Leeds United on the weekend.
Forest hosts bottom-of-the-table Wolves on Wednesday evening, which has now proven to be a must-win game. After a short-term burst in performance, the Wanderers have slumped to three defeats in their last three matches. It provides a window of opportunity that Forest must capitalise on if they are to avoid relegation this season.
And if West Ham do manage to win on Tuesday, then the pressure inside of the City Ground will only be that much more tense.
