It’s that time of year again: you’ve spent the last three weeks frantically listening to Oasis and the Arctic Monkeys on repeat in a desperate attempt to rid Taylor Swift from your Spotify Top 5 and today is the day you find out if your hard work paid off. And after Steve Clarke and his squad of heroes sent Scotland through to the Men’s FIFA World Cup for the first time in 28 years - in the most dramatic of circumstances imaginable – we thought our readers deserved another gift: a Scotify Wrapped, if you will.
Following a historic year in Scottish football, one that will be remembered forever for those four beautiful goals on that night in November, we’ve unpacked all the stats, moods, meltdowns and moments that defined your year in dark blue.
Let’s hit play.
Since Scotland’s first match of 2025, you’ve cheered on your nation on 10 occasions, celebrated 6 wins, lamented 3 losses, and accepted the single draw that proved so decisive in the end – that backs-against-the-wall performance in Copenhagen.

You helped Scotland qualify for one World Cup – their first in 28 years. A rare achievement unlocked and one you and 5.5 million Scots will never forget. On Friday (5 December), Scotland will watch on in anticipation as the World Cup draw takes place in Washington D.C. Good luck anyone drawn in the same group as Scott McTominay and Kenny McLean.
You didn’t just watch Scotland score – you curated a 19-goal playlist this year. They came from 12 different artists: 11 Scots, plus a surprise from Belarus courtesy of Zakhar Volkov’s own goal in Hungary.
Ché Adams topped the charts with 5 goals, Scott McTominay contributed three times – including the 2026 Puskas Award winning goal, presumably - and Ryan Christie notched two.

Undoubtedly, the four most replayed goals of the year were:
• McTominay 3’ • Shankland 78’ • Tierney 90+3’ • McLean 90+8’ – the goal that shook the world, quite literally.
Such was the excitement of the occasions, and the brilliance of the goals scored, two instances of seismic activity were recorded as Scotland qualified for the World Cup Finals.

This year has certainly been a year of ups and downs. Your mood ranged from despair in June after a chastening defeat to Iceland, to pure and utter ecstasy in November, when all your footballing dreams came true over 98 mind-boggling minutes of football.
Rollercoaster.
And, true to form, you followed Scotland everywhere you go! In five away matches - beginning and ending in the Karaiskakis Stadium in Piraeus - you travelled 8,404 miles to support our team putting you in the top 0.001% of Scotland fans worldwide. In 2026, you’ll travel 8,404 more as Steve Clarke’s men take on the world in North America.

#1 – Ecstasy
It doesn’t happen often; many generations doubted it would ever happen again in their lifetime. But they did it. Steve Clarke and his men found a way to send Scotland to the World Cup and 5.5 million people into euphoria.
#2 – Shock
No, it wasn’t a dream and yes, Kenny McLean did score from the halfway line to send Scotland to the World Cup. Oh, and Scot McTominay did score the greatest overhead kick you have ever seen.
#3 – Hope
Despite decades of glorious failure, you believed. This time hope came with belief – something about this team felt different.
#4 – Content
It might feel odd to you but for the first time in years you experienced contentment. All it took was Scotland qualifying for the World Cup.
#5 – Despair
Most experienced in June and after 60 minutes in any Greece game. But who cares? The only June that matters is in 2026!
Scotland 4-2 Denmark – 18 November 2025
You have watched the highlights of the Denmark match 10,215 times - once for every day between Scotland’s last World Cup match in ‘98 and their first World Cup match in ’26.
#1 – We’ll Be Coming – Your anthem of the year reached peak volume during the celebrations at Hampden in November and emblazoned across the chest over every player and staff member on the pitch.
#2 – Yessir, I Can Boogie #3 - Freed From Desire #4 – Rockin’ All Over the World #5 – Letter From America
Your peak listening day? Wednesday, 19 November - when you listened to Yessir, I can boogie for 23 hours and 59 minutes.

You also discovered new musical genres this year. In November, you discovered Belarusian pop. This was an unexpected discovery; however, the Belarussian music scene’s quality was greater than you had first thought. Thank you, Belarus.
In 2025, you witnessed one of the greatest nights in Scottish football history. On a night that mattered so much to so many, Steve Clarke and his men stood tall. From McGinn to McTominay, Robertson to McLean, every single player delivered a performance that shook Hampden - nay, Scotland - to its very core.
And in 2026? Who knows what might come. They’re capable of the spectacular and the rest of the world is about to find out.
Here’s to next year when the playlist will only get bigger.
