FIFA is back for another installment... wait... excuse me, we'll try that again.
EA FC is back for yet another installment as FC26 edges ever closer to release, that's better.
Players around the world will be sitting, rotting in front of their computer screen once again as they engross themselves in the game for hours (if not days) on end.
The buzz is palpable as everyone figures out exactly who they want in their starter teams... well, those of us who don't have thousands of pounds to spend on FC points in the first week, that is.
So, with that being said, being the company of the people that we are, here are the top 10 Premier League players who are perfect for your starter teams in this game.
Sit back, grab your favourite Twosync video for later viewing, and indulge in the ultimate guide to set off FC26 in the right manner.
Kicking off the list we have a Swiss army knife - or should I say Belgian - in Leandro Trossard.
The Arsenal winger is a jack of all trades, master of none- I mean that in the best way possible, I promise. Decent pace, good shooting, solid dribbling, 4 star skills and 5 star weak foot.
As long as his in-game character hasn't been programmed with the same runners up mentality as his club in real life, Trossard looks like one to target in the early going.
Ugh, goalkeepers... I know, but unfortunately you do need one in your team, so we might as well get it out of the way early, right?
And it is from the red to the white side of North London we go as Vicario appears the best early option.
These are #totthenham’s ovr for FC 26, as always EA has done a shit job with the players, players like vdv, porro, vicario and Romero should be atleast an 84.

Let me know what you think.#COYS #THFC #SPURS #FC26 pic.twitter.com/mbIy82VCPL
He's tall which is important for a goalkeeper (shocking I know), and boasts very well rounded statistics alongside the footwork playstyle.
Vicario even has a 4 star weak foot, not that I'm sure that's overly useful in FC26 for a goalkeeper, but it's still worth a mention.
He will likely gain a lot of attention in the early going, so could see an early price rise... but he still appears the most adept for a starter team.
Everyone loves a big, physical holding midfielder... well if you're a football fan that is.
Anton Stach is exactly that. 6ft 4in tall, can also play centre back if that tickles your fancy, and at 79 rated- the Leeds man could fall under the radar in the very early going as an option.
Solid debut from Anton Stach. Strange no Prem team moved for him earlier

Physicality, duels, ball winner, carrier, covers a lot of ground, good ball striker, set-piece taker, aerially strong, 6’4”, close control, versatile, fairly progressive & secure. All-rounder at Prem level pic.twitter.com/KiQ10Vt6u9
Playstyles? Stach has completed it mate. Aerial fortress, Bruiser, Intercept, power Shot, Relentless and Slide tackle... now I could pretend I know what each of those mean in full, or I could just let you, more experienced FC players figure that out...
I think i'll do the latter.
Now we are really talking, get the Newcastle players in and I'm a happy man.
No, but seriously. Elanga is a deserved place on this list.
Absolutely rapid, wouldn't be surprised if the EA employees just watched his plyometrics training alone to get the 92 pace rating.
😳⚡️ Anthony Elanga (21) has insanely quick feet… 36 taps in 7.08 seconds, which means he's making around 5 taps a second! 💨 pic.twitter.com/qhLWvgUNJJ
— EuroFoot (@eurofootcom) February 3, 2024
Elanga also has very good dribbling stats and a 5 star weak foot to boot. The shooting leaves a bit to be desired at 72, but who needs that when you are an absolute menace on the wing?
Rapid and Quick Step are in his playstyles, as you would expect, and they are joined by enforcer and low driven shot to make up a very very solid card to have in your starter teams.
A very strong and versatile card for new Manchester United man Matheus Cunha this year, which sees him get an 83 rating and the capability to play CAM, LW or ST.
Cunha will likely garner a hefty price tag in the early going, but if you can get your hands on him in the early packs you will have a good start to your team, or even maybe a cheeky bit of profit.

4 star skills, 4 star weak foot and a very solid set of stats including 84 dribbling and 85 shooting- Man United will be hoping he can replicate the quality of his card in real life this season.
Speaking of real life, is it a coincidence that Cunha is currently injured with the release of FC26 on the horizon... just saying.
Oh yes, another Newcastle player... I say that like I'm not the one making the list. No bias, I promise.
It is no secret that Big Joe loves a tackle, and by the looks of his FC26 card, that is mirrored in game.
Joelinton has a great engine and energy about him, but how on earth he goes through games without being sent off is beyond me. Consistently wipes people out 🥊
— Vicky (@footy_bombs) September 13, 2025
Joelinton is the second strongest player in the entire game, but he isn't only a gym merchant don't you worry (even if he was I wouldn't say it to his face), the Newcastle midfielder also offers you starter team a strong defensive base and some decent dribbling/passing stats as well.
In terms of Playstyles, it's only right that Big joe has Bruiser, that comes alongside Enforcer, Press Proven, Relentless, and Aerial Fortress to make him a really solid option for the opening weeks of the game.
I'd certainly have him in my starter team, love Big Joe.
There are those cards in every EA football game that give you nightmares.
The ones where all you can do is exit to the home screen and meditate to some '16 years' by the Griswolds or something of the like.

Kolo Muani feels like one of those players.
90 pace, decent shooting stats, very solid dribbling- he feels like one of those players who don't jump out, but could cause you some serious problems if you aren't mentally prepared.
Finesse Shot, Quick Step, Rapid, and Technical Playstyles to go alongside those stats... Kolo Muani is a problem, could be seriously meta in the early going.
Antonee Robinson is meta in real life never mind in a computer game.
The pace alone makes him a serious problem, get him overlapping and you'll have people rage quitting left, right and centre.

Solid defensively and physically with 78 and 80 respectively, alongside his Intercept, Jockey, Long Ball Pass, Rapid, Relentless, and Whipped Pass Playstyles- Robinson is a no brainer for the early going.
Think about how important he is to Fulham when he's fit, times that by 10- that's how good he could be for your starter teams.
Forget catching a vibe, it is attackers Lacroix will be catching in this years game. (Please, please tell me you get that...)
OMG,
— YSommer-Ultra | 💚 (@YSommer_Ultra) May 21, 2025
seeing Maxence Lacroix brings back memories🥹
111 BuLi games for Wolfsburg, 6️⃣ times sent off (4 full reds) - guy was a menace!
Can't believe he caught the vibe back in 2021 - and we're already in 2025❕https://t.co/p6r9SKvm7l
88 pace for a centre back is serious. Remember what I said about Kolo Muani earlier? Well, Lacroix could be his kryptonite.
Strong, good defensively and a big presence at 6ft 3in, Lacroix could even be an endgame player if he gets a few upgraded cards across the season.
Jockey and Long Ball Pass are his Playstyles to go alongside those very tasty statistics, Lacroix looks like a top target for your early game teams.
Madueke could well be the perfect mix of quality and price for your starter teams.
Everyone was questioning Arsenal's decision to buy the winger this summer, maybe they saw his FC 26 card and went from there?

Pace, dribbling, 4 star skill moves- everything you could ever want from an early game winger.
It might feel high to have him first, especially considering the fact he's only 80 rated and everyone will have Icons by the end of the first week.
But if the game is to be played properly and not pay to win, Madueke is a classic example of a starter team legend.
