Very few achievements come close to achieving promotion in football, particularly from the Championship. The money that teams earn to enter the top flight and mix with the countries best is like goldust to any club successful enough to pull it off.
If a team is able to achieve successive promotions, then they are truly in a league of their own, with the feat being an extreme rarity in modern football. Most recently Wrexham have been the team to go above and beyond, managing back-to-back-to-back promotions, in extraordinary circumstances with help from their wealthy owners.
Despite there being rumours they could go one further and achieve promotion to the big time this season, (a statement no Wrexham fan could've dreamt of three years ago) they've hit a hurdle in what is regarded as one of the toughest leagues in world football. A team they battled with in League One last season however, are starting to ruffle a few feathers and their long awaited return to the Premier League could soon be over.
After blitzing everybody in League One last season, amassing 111 points in the process, the Blues haven't rested on their laurels this season. When the unfortunate news broke to Blues boss, Chris Davies that he would not be able to continue his playing career at just age 19, he would soon turn to coaching with a spells in the youth setup at Leicester City as well as abroad.
In 2010 the Brit would join Brendan Rodgers' coaching staff as his assistant during his tenure at Swansea. Both Davies and Rodgers went on to share the dugout at Liverpool, Celtic and Leicester with his latest job before Birmingham being with Ange Postecoglu at Tottenham Hotspur.

A record-breaking title-winning campaign last season set the tone, and the momentum hasn’t slowed. 50 wins in 75 games under his leadership, built on clear identity, belief and consistency. The standards keep… pic.twitter.com/j1KizXD6d1
At still only 40-years-old, the Birmingham boss has already had great success in his first managerial role as head coach. Part of that success has been aided by the recruitment that the West Midlands club have carried out. Going back to last summer they brought in Christoph Klarer from relegated Bundesliga side Darmstadt and the Austrian would go on to win player of the season.
They also acquired the services of Jay Stansfield on a permanent deal from Fulham last summer, who has got 8 goal contributions in 13 league games following his strike on Tuesday night. The Blues breezed past Millwall at St Andrews in a comfortable 4-0 win.
That has now moved them into 9th place, and just a point off the play-off places. Also on the scoresheet against Millwall was Demarari Gray, with his second league goal since returing to his former club in the summer. Despite having some injury troubles, the Jamaican has featured in every game this season.
Lots of positives to take heading into the winter period for Birmingham, who will travel to Middlesborough at the weekend with a spring in their step.

If you asked Birmingham fans what their expectations were for the season, they probably would have taken a top half finish. Knowing how relentless they were in league One last campaign, it is no surprise that they have promotion ambitions, and why shouldn't they think like that with the quality they have in the side.
Scoring 8 goals in successive 4-0 home wins in their most recent games, confidence at St Andrews couldn't be higher. Another superb signing from last summer, Paik Seung-Ho has been so impressive in the midfield, scoring a goal in both of these matches.
Birmingham's home record is excellent, losing just once all season against Hull, which was largely down to a red card. If they can continue to make St Andrews a fortress, then there is no reason why they shouldn't start to dream of a promotion back to the top flight.
Manager Davies made a huge call at the start of last month to drop goalkeeper Ryan Allsop to the bench. The keeper was an ever-present figure in Birmingham's promotion side last season. In his place stepped up Brighton loanee James Beadle.
The 6ft 7in tall youngster has 3 clean sheets in 6 Championship appearances, putting him second in the percentage charts for a goalkeeper to have played more than twice in the division this season (according to Transfermarkt)
Despite their being only three clubs to have fielded a higher average aged team then the Blues this season, it appears that experience has prevailed. Birmingham still have youngsters like Stansfield, Koumas and Leonard who are all very capable of making a difference.

A deep dive into our new GK, James Beadle.
This is the time in the season where places in the table can truly be gained or lost. With the busy festive schedule soon upon us, Birmingham will be hoping they can avoid any injuries to key players during this time.
Almost a third of the way through the season and Birmingham will be very pleased with the start they have made. If they can continue their impressive recent defensive record, then their is every chance they could be in one of those play-off places come May.
