For so long now, the Ligue 1 Champions look to have been decided just a matter of weeks into the season.
Monaco 2017 and LOSC Lille 2021 titles aside, Paris Saint-Germain have been the only winners since 2013.
A decade before that, Olympique Lyonnais won it for seven straight years.
However, there is huge potential for that to change this season, with just four points separating first from seventh, plus a different name at the top.
If not for their previous three games, the Monegasques could actually be sitting top right now.
Recently, they've suffered a shock defeat to Lorient and were held to draws by OGC Nice and Angers.
Before that, though, they had beaten Le Havre, RC Strasbourg, Auxerre and Metz.
Their only other loss was a close 1-0 result against Lille on the second day of the season, leaving them with 14 points after eight games (W4, D2, L2)
Lille are ahead of Monaco only on goal difference.
Wins against Nantes, Toulouse, Monaco and a 7-1 thrashing of Lorient have put them in a strong place.
Draws against Brest and PSG were positive; however, they did lose back-to-back games.
As such, they have an identical record to Monaco.
Lyon have wins against the likes of Lens, Metz and table-toppers Marseille.

Yet, they have started to decline recently with losses against Nice and Toulouse to add to the earlier defeat to Rennes.
They have 15 points (W5, L3)
Lens have already got some big names out of the way eight matches in, having played early fixtures against Lyon, PSG and Lille - even though their two losses this season came against the first two of those clubs.
Wins against Paris FC, Auxerre, Brest, Le Havre and the aforementioned Lille have kept them high up the table.

They now have 16 points (W5, D1, L2)
The club in Alsace is owned by BlueCo, the controlling group of Chelsea FC.
The Strasbourg fans have held multiple protests against the owners already this season, bit the table would suggest that in actual fact, they aren't too bad off.

In their most recent game, a classic was played out away at PSG, with a brace from Joaquin Panichelli and a goal from Diego Moreira guiding them to a big 3-3 draw.
Strasbourg have 16 points (W5, D1, L2)
They have lost only once, but that is all it has taken for PSG not to be in their normal league position.
They have won against the likes of Nantes, Angers, Lens and Toulouse, but a 1-1 draw to Lille followed up by the Strasbourg game has ultimately denied them first place.
Their record is 17 points (W5, D2, L1)
They may have lost more than Paris, but they are still a point clear of their fierce rivals.
Marseille have beaten Rennes, Paris FC, Lorient, Strasbourg, Metz, Le Havre and, of course, a crucial 1-0 Le Classique victory against PSG.

Whilst the European Champions were busy collecting their Club of the Year award at the Ballon D'or ceremony last month, Marseille were producing a famous performance to send them top and send a message of intent to French clubs.
They have 18 points (W6, L2)
Of course, it is still way too early to make any substantiated claims on who will win Ligue 1.
However, the early indicators are that we could be set for a multiple-way title race come May.
