Arsenal 2-2 Bayern Munich | Player Ratings
David Raya - 5
Raya’s high positioning resulted in Arsenal giving away possession in the buildup to Gnabry’s equaliser. The spanish goalkeeper was good in possession and quick to redistribute the ball when collecting. In terms of shot stopping though, it wasn’t a good night for Raya.
Ben White - 7
White delivered on the night overall, getting the assist for Bukayo Saka's opener. However, the fullback missed a perfect chance to double Arsenal’s lead in the 16th minute, hitting it straight at Neuer with plenty of time in the box. He did brilliantly to make up for it by tackling Leroy Sane, when the German was racing though on goal, to keep the score at 2-1 in the first half.
William Saliba - 5
The Frenchman was uncharacteristically nervy on the night as he took out Leroy Sane to give Bayern the penalty which made it 2-1. He made several risky strides forward on the ball which were impressive but his first half performance was a massive drop off from what we’re used to.

Gabriel - 5
Gabriel had a physical match, competing with Kane for duels and even getting an Elbow in the face for his troubles. The Brazilian competed well but was caught out for both first half goals, with his confusion with Raya leading to Gnabry’s equaliser.
Jakub Kiwior - 5
Kiwior was brought off at half time and it wasn’t an ideal 45 minutes for the polish defender. Leroy Sane was twisting and turning past Kiwior and he wasn’t looking comfortable when Bayern pressed him.
Jorginho - 5
The italian failed on a defensive basis against Bayern compared to his opposite number Konrad Laimer. He wasn’t helping at all to stop the transitions in the middle of the park as the ball was constantly turned over with Bayern racing forward on the counter.
Martin Ødegaard - 7
Odegaard was tireless all night for Arsenal. Constantly moving and providing options for his side and looking to set his forwards away. Win, lose or draw, you can rely on Arsenal’s norwegian to put in a shift.
Declan Rice - 5
Rice didn’t have his best game by any stretch as he failed to track Sane’s run for Gnabry’s goal and was part of a midfield which was outrun by Bayern. His high positioning was a mistake as Jorginho wasn’t a physical presence capable of preventing Bayern’s midfield dominance.
Bukayo Saka - 7
Arsenal’s starboy gave the Gunners a perfect start by curling a strike past Manuel Neuer to lead 1-0. With Arsenal getting more success down the right-hand side Saka was one of their key outlets going forward. He thought he'd given his side the chance to win it as he was taken out by Neuer in the box with seconds to go but somehow a penalty wasn't given, which the Englishmen responded with by yelling the ref off the pitch at full time.

Kai Havertz - 6
The german worked hard throughout the match, linking up play and competing for duels with the Bayern defenders. Havertz eventually was brought into midfield in the second half and helped his side win the duels they were losing too many of in the first half.
Gabriel Martinelli - 5
Martinelli had a quiet game but it wasn’t entirely down to him. He was found on occasion on the wing through long balls but most of Arsenal’s attacks came on the other wing due to Kiwior’s defensive positioning in the first half compared to Ben White.
SUBSTITUTES
Oleksandr Zinchenko - 5
Zinchenko was brought on at half time to give Arsenal back some control but it was actually the substitutions of Trossard and Jesus which changed the game for Arsenal. The fullback has had a poor season defensively and was fortunate the likes of Gnabry and Sane were taken off early in the second half as he wasn’t dealing with the pacy attackers well.
Gabriel Jesus - 7
Jesus was dropped by Arteta and answered back in style by coming on t set up Trossard’s equaliser for the Gunners. The silky feet of the brazilian gave Arsenal space in the box for the first time in the second half after long periods of Bayern control.
Leandro Trossard - 7
The perfect impact from the bench. Trossard scored his 4th goal in the Champions League this season with a first time finish past Neuer to get a crucial equaliser. The belgian has been such a great source of goals for the gunners this season with 14 goals and 2 assists this season so far.
🔴⚪️🇧🇪 Leandro Trossard with his 13th goal of the season, always an important player for Arteta…

…fair to remind Arsenal only paid £21m to sign him, plus £5m in add-ons. pic.twitter.com/VHEc03FRX7
