Can Notts County keep up their winning streak?
Promotion chasing Notts County host a struggling Accrington Stanley this Saturday as EFL League Two rolls into its fifth matchday.
Notts County are still yet to lose this season after two wins and two draws in four games. They sit just inside the playoffs in 7th with 8 points. That being said they share the same amount of points as 8th placed Tranmere and are only two points away from Gillingham in 1st (10 points). They are the second top scorers in the division with 8 goals.
Accrington Stanley are still winless after four games, drawing twice and losing twice. They sit just outside the relegation zone in 22nd, but only by goal difference as Swindon in 23rd also have two points. Despite their results Stanley have not struggled to find the back of the net, scoring in every game so far totalling in 6 goals. A first win of the season could levitate them to a mid table place, but they will have to find a way of stopping the goals, as Accrington have by far the worst defensive record in the league, conceding 11 in 4.
These teams have played eachother 19 times this century. They have a very even record as Notts County have 7 wins, Accrington Stanley have 6 wins and there have been 6 draws.
That being said Accrington Stanley have a much stronger record in this fixture recently, with 5 of their 6 wins coming in the last 9 games.
When the two sides faced eachother last season in EFL League Two Notts County won 3-1 at home, and the score was 2-2 in Accrington.

Whether the former Premier League striker starts for the Magpies this weekend is up in the air with Alassana Jatta back from concussion protocol. Finally getting his chance to start last weekend, McGoldrick put himself up for contention scoring a brace to win the game against Swindon. Starting or not, the Irishman normally finds his way onto the pitch regardless appearing off the bench in all three other league games this season. After getting his name on the scoresheet for the first time, only more can be expected from the veteran. Fellow striker Jatta is never far away from the scoresheet either, with the pair set to face a leaky Accrington defence.
This fixture will kick off on Saturday 7th September at 15:00pm, it will be televised on the Sky Sports + app or red button.
