Despite being one of the hottest prospects in Europe just a few seasons ago, after scoring ten goals in the 2022/23 Premier League campaign, Brighton & Hove Albion have reportedly agreed to make the Irishman available for a loan deal in the upcoming window.
It’s a far cry from the whopping £120 million price tag the Seagulls once placed on the wonderkid, but it makes sense given current circumstances. It’s likely Ferguson will be pushing for a loan move to reignite his career.
The 20-year-old has scored just one goal this campaign, which is hardly surprising now that new-boss Fabian Hurzeler has entrusted him a total of 123 minutes across seven appearances this season.
His lack of game time isn’t really a criticism of his performances, but more likely testament to the ability of both Joao Pedro and Danny Welbeck, who are currently ahead of Ferguson in the pecking order.

Whilst the reports claim Leicester City are looking to secure his signature, it would likely mean returning either Odsonne Edouard or Facundo Baunonette back to their parent club in January, to ensure they meet the Premier League’s ruling on domestic loan deals. More than likely it would be the former, who’s yet to get off the mark for the foxes.
Fulham however, appear to have made a centre-forward their number one priority as they look to push for European football. Despite a difficult 4-1 defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers last time out, the Cottagers have been excellent for the mostpart this season.
Its expected that more clubs will jump in on the opportunity to secure Ferguson’s signature in January, given the sheer potential he could unlock on a loan spell.
