Who Spent The Most Money In The EFL Championship This Transfer Window?
The Transfer Window has officially closed with a lot of money being spent by clubs all around the world.
And although the EFL can’t really compete with some of the big boys in the Premier League when it comes to spending money they have spent a lot of money nonetheless.
We have decided to take a look at which clubs in the Championship have spent the most money this summer transfer window.
(All stats taken from Transfermarkt)
Michael Carrick's Boro have started the season off interestingly, immediately putting themselves in the hat for a potential promotion candidate. And with the money they have spent this window they will surely hope to go up come the end of the year.
12 players joined the club this summer improving on their starting eleven as well as their squad depth.
With Carrick being backed this much promotion is surely a must. A good window for Boro.
Time for one more 😉

Similarly Norwich will want to make a push for promotion come the end of the season but they are very far off that as it stands.
Despite spending €23.45 million this window Norwich currently sit in 12th in the table and will greatly need to improve. If they are to go up this season.

This is arguably the most shocking spot on the list. Hull City are struggling this year and if the money is anything to go off they are in for a stinker.
Hull City has spent €23.85 million this summer which is the third most in the league but they currently sit 19th place.
With that money spent they will hope that their season will drastically turn around if not they could be in trouble. Especially considering they have brought in 21 different players!

Leeds United claim second spot on this list and considering they are one of the favourites to win the division this season it isn’t much of a surprise why they have spent so much.
Leeds have greatly bolstered their squad as they look to improve on last season and finally claim a spot back in England’s top flight.
They have spent very well making a squad that is certainly Premier League quality. Let’s just hope they don’t fall apart now.

But of course top spot goes to Burnley who have outspent every other team in the league by a country mile. €19.15 million more than second placed Leeds to be exact.
The 23 players brought in shows that Scott Parker has a lot of backing as they look to return to the Premier League after last season's relegation.
If they don’t go up a lot of questions will be asked.
We are delighted to announce the signing of attacking midfielder Zian Flemming, who joins the Clarets on a season-long loan from Millwall.

The 26-year-old has scored 23 goals and registered nine assists in the last two seasons in the Championship with the Lions.
