Will Burnley continue their strong Championship form? Gab Sutton's EFL Predictions

20/09/24 12:25

EFL expert Gab Sutton has again linked up with us here at Football Park, and this time he’s given us his best predictions for game week 7 in the EFL.

Who’s he picked for sure, and who has selected with outside odds?

Whether you’re building a naughty ACCA for the weekend, or just interested to see what a man who knows the EFL like the back of his hand is thinking, we’ve got his tips laid out here.

Championship Predictions

Burnley to win over Portsmouth - 4/9

Burnley look set to finish Portsmouth’s tough beginning to the season. Scott Parker’s team are off the back of an impressive win at Leeds United, and Gab’s sure they’ll do the business at home.

Sheffield United to beat Derby County - 11/20

Whilst Derby have had an impressive start to the season, Sheffield United’s has been better. The Blades’ quality will be too much for promoted Derby.

Bristol City to defeat Oxford United - 77/100

Once again, Oxford United have had a good start to the season. However, they’re not too good on the road and Bristol City’s quality will best them.

Championship ACCA?

Combining all three selections from the Championship would earn you healthy 3/1 odds, meaning a £10 stake would return a huge £40 should it land.

League One Predictions

Charlton Athletic to beat Blackpool - 5/4

Charlton look great value for money this weekend, at 5/4 even though they’re 16 league spots above their opponents. Gab thinks they’ll be extending their three match unbeaten run.

Huddersfield Town to beat Northampton Town - 1/3

This one’s self explanatory, Huddersfield have looked fantastic so far this campaign, while Northampton have looked… not. Northampton will extend their run without a win.

Peterborough United to beat Bristol Rovers

Kwame Poku will be key as Peterborough look to best Rovers, and Gab Sutton thinks they’ll do just fine.

League One ACCA

Combining all three selections from League One would earn you healthy 4/1 odds, meaning a £10 stake would return a huge £50 should it land.

League Two Predictions

Barrow to beat Newport County - 12/25

While Newport County started the campaign well, their form has dropped off a cliff in the last two matches. Barrow look a class above their opponents.

Grimsby to beat Bromley - 23/20

It’ll be a close game between Grimsby and Bromley, but Bromley’s good start appears to have fizzled out and Grimsby will best them.

Notts County to beat Gillingham - 9/10

It’s a huge clash at the top of the League Two table, and Gab thinks Notts County look better value for money. Jodi Jones will be key.

League Two ACCA

Combining all three selections from League Two would earn you huge 5/1 odds, meaning a £10 stake would return a huge £60 should it land.

Gab Sutton's Outside Shouts

Burton Albion to defeat Barnsley - 5/2

With Danilo Orsi firing, and Barnsley off the back of a 7-0 League Cup defeat, Burton are in with a great shout of defeating their opponents.

Cambridge United to beat Wycombe Wanderers - 16/5

Cambridge are underperforming so far, but they have demonstrated their quality in the past. A home fixture against Wycombe is a great opportunity to get off the foot of the table.

Alassana Jatta to score against Gillingham - 9/5

The Gambian forward has a goal every 95 minutes in League Two this campaign, 9/5 is great odds for him to end up on the scoresheet.
