I am a Scottish football coach, analyst and writer with a strong focus on player development, performance and game understanding across grassroots, youth and senior football.

Alongside my writing, I coach at grassroots and university level and run Centred Coaching, delivering 1-to-1 and small-group sessions focused on technical development, decision-making and confidence.

This practical coaching background strongly informs my analysis, ensuring it remains grounded in real development environments rather than theory alone.

My work as a correspondent centres on match analysis, tactical breakdowns, opposition previews and individual player reports, with particular interest in how teams operate within clear game models and how players interpret roles, structures and moments within matches.

I combine technical and tactical insight with psychological and physical context, recognising that performance is shaped as much by decision-making and confidence as by systems and structure.

As a writer, my aim is to make football analysis accessible without losing depth.

Whether covering Scottish domestic football, youth development or individual performances, I look to explain why things happen on the pitch, not just what happens.

Above all, I believe football analysis should be people-first, honest and reflective. My work is driven by a commitment to learning, clarity and contributing positively to the long-term development of Scottish football.
