Why We Are Backing This Bet

Sunderland Stalemate: Arguably the most unpredictable match of the gameweek, this one. Separated by just two places and three points, there is little else to split the two outfits. Sunderland come into this one on a wave of confidence, having beaten Newcastle in a fiercely contested Tyne-Wear Derby, while Brighton approach the game with no wins in their last three.

With that being said, the two defeats in their last three games came against Aston Villa and Liverpool - hardly dropping points for free. Talking about Man City as a whole, scoring three goals against Crystal Palace is a tough ask in itself – scoring three against West Ham should prove to be far less challenging.

The Hammers showed some spirit in their last game, a 3-2 defeat against Aston Villa, but their defensive demons still lurk, and it speaks volumes that the Hammers haven’t kept a clean sheet since August. While unlikely, the API gives the Over 3.5 goals leg a 35% likelihood, far higher than any other top-flight game this weekend.
