This Friday’s Serie A action sees Lecce make the trip to face Genoa at the Stadio Comunale Luigi Ferraris. This is a big match for the away side with them on the cusp of entering the relegation zone.
Both teams head into this game in contrasting form to each other. Over Genoa’s last five games they have won once, lost once and drawn three, not helped with the massive injury list they currently suffer from. Lecce on the other hand are winless after achieving three losses and two draws, losing those three games consecutively and most recently. This Friday is a must win for them as they sit dangerously close to dropping into the relegation zone.
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Genoa Predicted Line-Up: Nicola Leali; Aarón Martín, Johan Vásquez, Koni De Winter, Stefan Sabelli; Milan Badelj (c), Morten Frendrup; Fabio Miretti, Patrizio Masini, Jeff Ekhator; Andrea Pinamonti
Coming back from behind in their last game, Genoa earned themselves another draw for the second time in as many weeks thanks to the second half effort of West Ham United loanee Maxwel Cornet. That tie against Cagliari leaves them residing in 12th place after 28 games, picking up seven wins, 10 losses and 11 draws. Those results have left them with a tally of 32 points, creating a gap of seven points between them and opponents Lecce. They can go about the rest of the season care free as the pressure of making the European places nor the threat of relegation will bother them.
Since Patrick Viera took over the reigns back in November of last year, Il Grifone have been fantastic defensively at home. Only Scudetto challengers Napoli have matched their five goals conceded on home soil, something that has massively help Genoa. On the other end of the pitch and striker Andrea Pinamonti has been their best option at finding the back of the net, doing so eight times in the 27 games he’s featured in. If he can be in the good form he has shown in patches this season then there is no reason as to why he can’t be the difference maker for his side this Friday, helping Genoa earn their first set of three points in a while.
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Lecce Predicted Line-Up: Wladimiro Falcone; Antonino Gallo, Gaby Jean, Federico Baschirotto (c), Frédéric Guilbert; Medon Berisha, Lassan Couilbaly; Tete Morente, Thórir Jóhann Helgason, Santiago Pierotti, Nikola Krstović
Lecce have really struggled this season, winning only once in their last 15 games in the Serie A proof of that. After 28 games they have won only six, losing 15 times and drawing seven. That has left them occupying 16th place with 25 points, just three points away from the relegation zone.
Nikola Krstović finally ended his goal drought in style, bagging a brace against Italian giants AC Milan but the efforts from the club’s top scorer weren’t enough for I Giallorossi to take all three points as Milan eventually won 2-3 on the road. Krstović has nine goals and three assists from his 28 appearances and with him putting on a great display versus a tough AC Milan side, he could repeat the trick this Friday, becoming the one to make a difference and help Lecce climb away from the drop zone.
The last five faceoffs have been split in the favour of Genoa, winning and drawing twice with Lecce defeating them in the remaining match. Genoa have shown glimmers of hope this season and they could grab all three points this Friday, ending their winless streak.

Lecce have been on a poor run of form, losing their last three consecutive matches and with no signs of major improvement, they could be handed another loss this Friday at the hands of Genoa.
For that reason, our betting experts have gone with Genoa To Win as our best value tip for this game.
Odds of 21/20 mean that a £10 bet has the potential to return up to £20.50 in this match.
(odds subject to change)
Genoa 1-0 Lecce
Both teams have averaged scoring under a goal a game and with Lecce finding the scoresheet only twice in their last five games, it looks to be another low scoring affair. Genoa have been rock solid at home and if Lecce cannot find their shooting boots, defeat number four in a row will head their way.
