Leeds United welcome Sheffield United for one of the biggest games of the Championship season. Both are title contenders and both have a point to prove.
Sheffield United remain the only unbeaten side in the Championship this season Sheffield United have not conceded a goal in the league since the end of August Leeds United are unbeaten in their last four league games
Last time out, an unfortunate goalkeeping mistake from Illian Meslier unfortunately cost Leeds all three points away at Sunderland. Sheffield United look like arguably the best in the league right now, a game like this in front of Elland Road could be massive for their promotion push.
Leeds United Predicted Line-up: Illan Meslier; Junior Firpo, Pascal Struijk, Joe Rodon, Jayden Bogle; Joe Rothwell, Ao Tanaka; Largie Ramazani, Brenden Aaronson, Wilfried Gnonto; Joël Piroe
The mistake from Illian Meslier was unlucky. Leeds had worked hard to keep Sunderland at bay, but it was perhaps the worst goalkeeping error of the season that saw them draw the match.
However, Leeds are still one of the strongest sides in the league. They boast a very impressive squad with plenty of threatening players. Take Wilfred Gnonto for example, he assisted both goals against Sunderkand before the international break, and has scored two and assisted six in 2024/25 for club and country.
Daniel Farke is an experienced Championship man. There’s arguably not a better man to have in charge right now. But, they have shown at times that they have flaws. A strong performance in this game could be season defining.
Sheffield United Predicted Line-up: Michael Cooper; Sam McCallum, Anel Ahmedhodžić, Harry Souttar, Alfie Gilchrist; Oliver Luke Arblaster, Vinícius Souza; Callum O'Hare, Rhian Brewster, Jesurun Rak-Sakyi; Keiffer Moore
Sheffield United have been defensibly sound this season. They’re tactical revolution under Wilder has turned them into the best defensive side in the entire division.
They also possess a very talented squad that know what and where to be at all times on the pitch.
Keiffer Moore, Callum O’Hare and Gustavo Hamer most likely provide the attacking threat. But it’s the anchoring roles of Vinicius Souza that really impress us. They have players of outstanding quality all over the side.
Coming away from this match with a draw would be massive for Wilder’s side. Going away to Leeds will no doubt be one of the toughest games all season.
The last time these two teams played against each other was in the 2020/21 Premier League season. Leeds ended up winning both home and away for that campaign.

Leeds seem like they’ve been through a rough patch but they’re actually unbeaten in their last four games. They’ve also only lost once at home in the league this season (to Burnley 1-0) and will be eager to put on a strong showing against an in-form Sheffield United side.
