Every season the EFL is blessed with a refresh young talent. A lot of that talent is manufactured in the Premier League, as the top teams often lend a helping hand to the clubs below them.
These players have a point to prove. They’re surrounded day-to-day by some of the world’s greatest players and are on a mission to showcase why they deserve to be amongst them.
There is no better place to declare your ability than the English Football League. Competitive men's football at a fantastic level, with the opportunity to earn great success whilst playing for the temporary club.
Just over two months into the current season, we have already seen this player portfolio introduced lower down the pyramid - and not just once. Some deriving the second loan deal of their careers and some bursting onto the scene.
Jamie Donley is one of Tottenham Hotspur's next biggest products. At just 20 years of age, the midfielder has already played over 60 games in men’s football and is occupying his second consecutive loan spell.

Last term, the Northern Irishman stepped away from his homegrown club for the first time, venturing out into League One chaos as he arrived at Leyton Orient. In East London, Donley appeared in 42 out of the 46 third tier games, scoring eight goals and grabbing 10 assists.
Orient even managed to reach the playoff final after finishing sixth in the table. However, it unfortunately wasn't to be for the O’s.
Nevertheless, Donley couldn't have really asked for a better year on a personal note, as his exceptional performances and mature mannerisms stuck his foot in the door for plenty of other clubs to go after him.
Over the summer, the midfielder got that new club, as Spurs once again loaned him out - but this time to the Championship. Stoke City acquired the youngster and he has since played five games and collected one assist for the Potters.
Here’s a man that has already gained valuable experience in the Premier League. However, whilst he is still young and in need of experience, Issa Kaboré is earning his stripes in the Championship.
Wrexham are the ones fortunate enough to have the full-back at their disposal, after securing him a loan deal from Manchester City for the season. Now 24 years of age, Kaboré has been on six separate loans away from his parent club in just five seasons.

Only one of them was in England, as he contributed to Luton Town’s campaign in the Premier League two years ago. This has meant the Burkinabé has yet been given the chance to settle down.
However, since being with the Red Dragons, Kaboré has hit the ground running, having played five games in the second tier. He has already managed to pick up three assists from the right flank, nailing him as a starter for the newly promoted side.
Not much has gone right for Peterborough United so far this season, but one thing that certainly has worked out is the addition of Chelsea youngster Jimmy-Jay Morgan.
The 19-year-old has only played five league games for the Posh and already bagged three goals in the third tier. His energy is a handful for League One defenders, on top of his ability to poach the ball in and amongst the six-yard box.
Buzzing to have got off the mark for the Posh!! Gutted with the result. Time to put it right this weekend, at home.💙 pic.twitter.com/PPX8vNa8C3

Darren Ferguson’s men currently sit rock bottom after 11 games, having only won two of them. Many question the club’s transfer business, but they have made so many signings it’s a struggle to count.
However, despite underperforming on his prior loan spell to Gillingham in League Two, Morgan is so far one of the only few to showcase League One standards in Cambridgeshire. No matter whether the Posh escape relegation or not, the striker could well be on his way to secure a greater move next season - or even January!
Tottenham have some serious talent on the books. Jamie Donley’s partner in crime is also appearing regularly in Championship football, as striker Will Lankshear can’t stop scoring goals for Oxford United.
The 20-year-old had only been given a small taste of men’s football prior to this season, as his 11-game spell with West Bromwich Albion didn’t play out how he would have liked. However since exercising a second loan away from Spurs, the Englishman’s career looks to have been kickstarted.
Lankshear has played nine games in the second tier for Oxford and has already netted three goals in the meantime. Despite the U’s currently being in a relegation battle, it certainly bolsters confidence having their new forward.
Hale End has once again lived up to its expectations on this one. Whilst Cozier-Duberry is technically no longer an Arsenal player, it was the Gunners who nurtured the youngster.
Brighton took the winger away from North London in 2024 upon the expiry of his contract. Immediately, Cozier-Duberry went straight out on loan to Blackburn Rovers in the Championship.
He played 23 games and scored once for them, before moving across the North West to Bolton Wanderers for a second loan spell.

That takes us to this season, where the 20-year-old already has 13 League One games under his belt, having netted three and collected four assists. The season is only just getting started and it looks to be an exceptional one for the young talent; he is certainly paving a way into the Seagull’s future plans.
