Heading into the summer transfer window, it was evident that QPR needed to upgrade their attacking options and with who they brought in, it was very clear the club acknowledged this too.
Signings like Richard Kone, Karamoko Dembele and Koki Saito were the main names brought in but one that went under the radar and under the noses of many fans was Jamaican international Rumarn Burrell.
The forward was signed for a reported roughly £750k fee from League One side Burton Albion; upon signing, he was not in the spotlight like his fellow arrivals, having far fewer expectations.
Despite this, he has smashed any of those that were placed on him and is currently in the race for the golden boot and, dependent on how QPR finish the season, is on pace for a potential Team of the Year inclusion.

In the last couple of games it has particularly looked to have clicked -a relative unknown until the summer transfer window, Burrell one of the deadliest players in the Championship.
He has been solid all through the campaign but in the last 10 games alone, Burrell has chipped in with 8 goal contributions, including last game week, where he absolutely hammered West Brom with a brace.
In this season's campaign he is very much proving a vital cog in the 'R's' play-off ambitions being potentially realised, contributing 9 goals and 1 assist in 19 league games at the time of writing.
To put into perspective how well Burrell is playing, let's take a look at his record in League One last season for Burton Albion. In 30 games he bagged 11 goals and provided 2 assists; this is a solid return for a striker but clearly indicates he has taken a step up this year.
In fact, the step up has been so much that he is already QPR's highest league goal scorer in the last 3 seasons and it's not even halfway through the campaign.
Rumarn Burrell already has more league goals than any QPR player has managed in any of the last 3 seasons:

Burrell is contributing to his side at a far better rate this season, bearing in mind he has taken a step up in quality and is facing much harder opposition week in week out and yet he is thriving for QPR.
It's this that has been so impressive about the Jamaican international and shows why he's on his way to being one of the biggest threats to opposition defences in the entirety of the Championship.
A lot of factors and abilities go into making a perfect striker and to be honest Burrell seems to have most of them, which explains why he's playing so well but let's do a quick breakdown of what the elite traits are that he possesses.
Firstly, one of the key factors of Burrell's top form has been that he simply possesses top-tier in-box movement and the ability to control space without having the ball.
His second goal against West Brom exemplified this beautifully, keeping eyes on the ball to be reactive to either Kone's cutback or be on the front foot to react to a rebound. In the game it played out that Kone did cut it across and Burrell was quick to get ahead at the near post to tap it across for the finish but it was a display of elite intelligence and striking instincts.
Similarly, another great example was against Swansea earlier this season, keeping distance from the defender to avoid prevention of the run and being brought into a tussle for the ball. He kept the option for a near-post cross available at all times through the move and it paid off as he bagged a goal through this.
Burrell has also displayed a high level of composure and pressing ability in the past few games and again we can look to last weekend's game against West Brom for an example, except this time at the first goal.
He pressed his defender to help force the issue and waited in anticipation for a defensive slip-up; it came via a dodgy pass across the box and Burrell kept calm with the ball at his feet, picking his spot and slotting past the onrushing keeper.
It has also helped Burrell this season that he has formed a deadly partnership and attacking understanding with another one of his fellow summer arrivals, Richard Kone.
Some fans have noted that Kone has perhaps not contributed at the levels they anticipated for his price tag; however, he is also really coming into his own due to his on-pitch relationship with Burrell. The Jamaican's second goal was very much down to the Ivorian but it displayed how the two are shaping up to be so deadly together.
Kone held up the ball beautifully and took it past his fullback charging into the box before the rebound found Burrell. It was Kone's fashioning a chance out of nothing that caught attention the most, though, and it is a great goal to showcase both of their qualities.
Kone’s goal drought will never bother me as long as he’s the reason Burrell is bagging goals https://t.co/mnY6OmEQv1
