5 Managers Who Could Face The Sack In The Coming Weeks
The English football league seasons are well underway and in each of the divisions the table is already starting to take shape.
Some teams have started the season incredibly well however others certainly haven’t. And sooner rather than later managers' jobs could be put into question - if they haven’t already.
So today, we have decided to take a look at 5 managers that could be in line for the chopping block if they don’t change something and change something now.
The first manager on our list has to be Sean Dyche of Everton.
Despite a very good campaign last season - with all things considered - Everton have started this season in simply awful fashion.
They have failed to win any of their opening three games conceding an astonishing ten goals in that time as well.
And with this past weekend seeing them lose a two goal lead with 5 minutes to against Bournemouth the pressure is well and truly on for Dyche at the Toffees.
Could he be the first Premier League manager to face the sack?

While at Derby County a few seasons ago Rooney looked like the next best English manager. Since leaving though he has greatly struggled and not managed to put up the same sort of ability as he showed while at Derby.
Now it looks as though he is on the way to being sacked by Plymouth Argyle.
Rooney’s side have started the season with 2 draws and 2 losses in their opening 4 games. This placing them 22nd in the EFL Championship.
Many consider Plymouth one of the easier teams to beat in the league and Rooney’s managerial ability is constantly put up as one of the reasons they are struggling.
Something major is going to have to change if Rooney is to keep his job.

Richie Wellens has been manager of Leyton Orient since March 2022 and has had a fairly successful time at the club. He got the club promoted to League One in the 2022/23 season and guided them to an 11th place finish last year. However the start of this season hasn’t been remotely close to that.
So far this season in the league they have lost all 4 of their opening 4 games. In that run they have only scored twice and conceded 11 goals. This placing them bottom of the league.
This early into the season to be bottom of the league will be far from ideal especially considering how well Wellens has done in previous seasons.
If he can’t start picking up wins soon he could be in trouble.

Mike Williamson is clearly a very good manager however the start to the season at MK Dons certainly hasn’t been up to scratch.
With many people tipping MK Dons to go up this year, starting the season with 3 points from the opening 4 games currently sitting 19th in the table isn’t great.
And with new owners who will want to make an impact as soon as they can, sacking Williamson could be an option for them.
We have done an article on why Williamson could be in trouble at MK Dons which you can check out here for more detailed information.
Wasting so many chances, while continuing to be so easy to score against is not a fruitful combination. Think Williamson has two games to save his job. #mkdons

Derek Adams became Morecambe manager for the 3rd time in June and considering how he had done with the club in the past this could have been seen as a good idea, However considering their start to the season Adams could be gone sooner rather than later.
The start of the season hasn’t been great for Morecambe with the club failing to win a single game in all competitions losing all 5 of their games so far.
Not only this but in those 5 games they have failed to score a single goal and have conceded 7.
Adams has a good track record at the club having previously gained them promotion to League One for example however they are a very long way off that right now. This could mean that the Scottish manager faces the sack soon.
FULL-TIME: The visitors take all three points.
