Notts County have announced that they will no longer recognise the Notts County Supporters Association as one of their officially recognised affiliate fan groups.
The announcement comes as a result of, as the club state, "unresolved concerns around governance and committee member conduct", with the fan group being suspended by the Football Supporters' Association (FSA) days before.
Despite efforts from both the club and the FSA to get the group to adhere to guidelines regarding matters such as election policy, conduct and disciplinary matters, the group has appeared to fail in properly recognising and carrying out these responsibilities, leaving the club with no choice but to not recognise the group as an affiliate.
The FSA have agreed to provide continual support to the Notts County Supporters Association, but Notts County themselves are unable to recognise the group again until the 'serious concerns' have been addressed in full.
In a statement on the Notts County website, The Magpies state that they can no longer recognise the NCSA as an official supporters group...
"Notts County Supporters Association (formerly Notts County Official Supporters Association) was, and remains, suspended by the Football Supporters' Association (FSA) — the national representative body for football fans in England — due to governance concerns, which resulted in us removing their official status and associated privileges.
"Since their suspension, and in collaboration with the FSA, we have been working to help the Supporters Association address these issues and regain their FSA membership.
Due to unresolved concerns around governance and committee member conduct, we are no longer able to recognise Notts County Supporters Association as one of our affiliated supporter groups.

"This included agreeing and adopting a suite of FSA policies, including a new constitution, disciplinary and election procedures and committee conduct policy. In addition, the Supporters Association agreed to follow a protocol governing the holding of an Annual General Meeting (AGM) and election of new committee members under the supervision of the FSA.
"Unfortunately, the Supporters Association failed to follow these FSA guidelines, in particular with respect to the election policy, and, as a result, the FSA temporarily withdrew their support. The FSA have since agreed to provide support to the Supporters Association again, but until the serious concerns are fully addressed and, with immediate effect, we are unable to recognise the Supporters Association." - an official statement from Notts County.
The Notts County Supporters Association were former in March 2014, and have been recognised as an official affiliate ever since.
The club went on to announce a goodwill gesture to supporters previously unaware of any issues with the association, as well as urging fans to only join officially recognised groups that adhere to FSA guidelines in the meantime...
_"This decision has not been taken lightly. We acknowledge the Supporters Association’s long-standing support and fundraising efforts for the club. However, we have a duty of care to ensure every recognised group operates with transparency, integrity and in the best interests of its members.
"We recognise that many Supporters Association members may be unaware of the aforementioned issues and, as a gesture of goodwill, we will be honouring the £5 club shop voucher previously offered as part of their membership. This voucher must be redeemed before 31 December 2025. Club shop vouchers will not be available to any new supporters joining the Supporters Association.
