Should Arsenal sell Gabriel Jesus?
It has recently come to light that Arsenal are prepared to listen to offers for their number 9 this summer just two years after signing him from Manchester City, according to a report from ‘The Athletic’.
Last season, Mikel Arteta said that Gabriel Jesus “changed our world”.

But Arsenal’s world may be changing again.
With Jesus struggling for form and fitness, #AFC are ready to listen to offers for the 27-year-old in the summer.@TheAthleticFC 🔴⚪️🇧🇷⬇️https://t.co/OSlAfYqhLk
When Jesus arrived in North London he was welcomed like the messiah as he was replacing Alexandre Lacazette, who in his final season only managed two goals in open play across the entire Premier League campaign.
The Brazilian came with a lot of promise and started life in North London well, but after injuring his knee at the World Cup in Qatar, things haven’t been the same for the forward.
This season Jesus has managed just four Premier League goals, averaging one every 365 minutes. Considering he was seen as Arsenal’s new star striker, Jesus simply isn't living up to the hype.
In big matches Jesus isn’t starting for the Gunners, as players like Havertz and Trossard can boast better numbers this season and have been more reliable on a consistent basis.
Despite wearing the number 9 Jesus has been pushed out of the striker role in Arteta’s system and has more recently been used as a winger showcasing, that his ability in the box is no longer trusted by Arteta.
So many pundits across the season have mentioned the fact that Arsenal miss a clinical finisher, but it’s easy to forget that Jesus was supposed to be that.
With Arsenal ready to sell for the right price we have to ask the question; who would sign Gabriel Jesus?
He is currently 27 years old and should be in the prime of his career, but his fitness levels and statistics don’t agree. His recent comments about scoring not being his strong point and also constantly being in pain while playing won’t help either.
Jesus is Arsenal's second highest earner behind Kai Havertz with a reported wage of £265,000 a week. Considering the fact this is higher than players like Martin Ødegaard, Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka who are pillars of Mikel Arteta’s system, moving on the player is Arsenal’s best option as he simply isn’t worth staying.
It will be a big summer for Arsenal as they are also expected to sell Aaron Ramsdale, Eddie Nketiah and Thomas Partey.
Arsenal have already been linked with strikers with the most common rumour being Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting Lisbon.
